"So Olivier told me you were originally from Central City, moved to Starling, then came back, why?" Barry asked, waiting for Mack to get dressed.

"Why did I come back?" Mack yelled back through the door.

"No, why do you keep moving back and forth?"

"I grew up here, but when my parents died I wanted a fresh start. I needed to get away from the constant stares of pity, so I moved to Starling City and lived there happily until I got a call from Caitlin saying she needed me. I came back home instantly and never looked back. I get myself in too much trouble here to keep myself distracted before I can even begin to miss Starling anyway." Mack replied, checking over her new outfit one last time before she left the room. She was wearing a simple black dress with matching black heels and an oversized cardigan.

"You came back because she needed y- oh, wow. That is some bingo outfit." Barry commented, his eyes widening at the sight of Mack.

"I'm more of a Uno girl." Mack shrugged, winking at Barry as she walked over to the kitchen counter to write Caitlin a quick note. "My question now, do you wish you never became fast?"

"No, it's only been a few days since I woke up, but it's given me the chance to help people and if I was never struck by lightening, I never would've met you."

"Oooh, smooth."

"I'm so sorry, you just look really good and I'm finding it really hard not to hit on you right now." Barry explained, instantly regretting what he had said the moment the words left his mouth.

"Wow, I had no idea that Barry Allen actually had game. Hit on me all you like, it's good for my confidence."

"Something tells me that confidence isn't something you're low on.. You ready? Pizza and a karaoke bar?"

"Sure, sounds good." Mack nodded, holding her arm out for Barry to take. A smirk soon settling on her face as he eagerly took it. Oh, tonight was definitely going to be fun.

-

"I didn't know you could sing!" Barry exclaimed, grinning at Mack as they made their way off stage.

"I could say the same for you, you sounded incredible! Thanks for this, Barry, I've honestly had so much fun."

"Anytime at all. Now, you wanna hang around here for a bit or go get pizza?" He asked, Mack shrugging simply in response.

"Why don't we stay here for just a bit longer?" Mack suggested, falling in love with the happy atmosphere. "I'll go get us some drinks. I don't know about you, but my throat's a little dry now."

"I'll get them, you go get us a seat. What do you want to drink?"

"Dr Pepper, please."

"Sure." Barry replied, heading over to the bar. "Hi, could I please get a Dr Pepper and a water?" Barry asked the bartender. "Thanks."

"Wow, you and your girlfriend had some real chemistry up there. You both sounded great!" A dark haired girl said, approaching Barry who awkwardly laughed.

"Oh, no. No, Mack isn't my girlfriend."

"But you like her?" The girl pressed, she was clearly trying to get him to say something, but Barry had no clue what.

"I don't know if I like her, I haven't really known Mackenzie for all that long."

"There isn't a time limit for love."

"Oh, no! Nope, I'm definitely not in love with her!" Barry rushed, almost cutting the girl off.

"Right, well let me know when you figure this all out. My name's Linda and here's my number, maybe call me sometime? Unless of course you suddenly fall in love with the gorgeous brunette you sang with." The girl - Linda - joked, slipping Barry a piece of paper before leaving him all alone to pay the bartender.

When Barry turned to find Mack, he noticed she was having the same problem he had just faced, but Mack looked incredibly uncomfortable.

"Can I help you?" Barry questioned as he reached Mackenzie and the man who was a bit too close to Mack for Barry's liking and judging by the look on her face; he was a bit too close for her liking too.

"This is the boyfriend I was telling you about." Mack said through gritted teeth, trying to push away from the guy.

"He's not your boyfriend, sugar. Come on, you seem to go out with every other guy, why not give me a chance? You won't be disappointed."

"I'm not interested, please just leave me alone." Mack tried again.

"Baby-"

"I think she told you to leave her alone." Barry spoke up, sending the blonde guy a cold glare.

"You think you're some hero?"

"No, but she told you to back off and I really think you should respect that."

"Oh, do you now? You wanna take this outside?"

"I'm not trying to start a fight here, I just want you to leave Mack alone."

"Come on, let's take it outside!"

"Are you deaf or just stupid?" Mack asked, rolling her eyes and standing up. "I'm pretty sure he said he didn't want to fight, but if you really want to get hit so badly, here." She added, before swiftly punching the man square in the face, blood dripping down from his nose very soon after.

"Bit-"

"You can't say I didn't warn you. Now we'd best be off; I'd love to say it's been a pleasure, but it really hasn't. Let's go, Barry." Mack interrupted, pulling on Barry's arm and leading him out of the semi-crowded bar.

"Remind me not to mess with you, ever." Barry muttered to the brunette who was pulling her cardigan tighter around herself. "Hey, I'm sorry that happened."

"It's okay, it's not your fault. When you've got a reputation like I do, suddenly everyone seems to think you're not a human being with basic rights like saying no." Mack shrugged, trying to act like it didn't bother her, but the look on her face proved that it really did.

"I think it's my question, so why do you go out with random guys all the time? I hate to think that people treat you like that on a regular basis."

"I guess in some twisted way it makes me feel powerful and I think I like the attention. I know the attention isn't a good kind, but it's really the only type I get. It's alright though, don't pity me, I choose to be who I am."

"What about the attention you get from everyone at the lab?"

"It's not the same. I guess I just want to know I can make people love me, no matter how I treat them."

"But Mack, it's not love and this whole situation isn't okay. I think Caitlin's right, you could have any guy you want, please just choose someone who will treat you right and stop messing with their heads." Barry gently told her, his tone low as he gently stroked her hand with his thumb.

"What if no one does though?"

"I would. Mack, I would give you the world if you asked for it because I know you deserve it. There's someone out there who will treat you right, someone will see you like I do; just don't play mind games when they finally show up."

"Yeah, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Oh, um, Barry, where are we?" Mack asked, stopping in her tracks as she noticed that nothing looked familiar.

"That's a wonderful question that I don't have the answer to."

"Great." Mack groaned, playfully pushing his arm.

"I'll call Cisco?" Barry said, sounding more like a question than a statement.

"Good idea." Mack answered, laughing back. Suddenly not so worried about being lost as the only thing going through her mind was Barry's quote, "someone will see you like I do".
