chapter 1 // best friend

Flashback //
"Guys, is it ok if I sing this part of the song?" I asked.

Luke looks at me and answers "Yeah, fine by me. Why you wanna sing that part so badly anyway?"

I smile "Just because, I don't know. I can recognize myself in this song, I like it."

Michael pouts and whines "But I also wanted to sing that part, why does Calum get that part?"

I laugh and push him "Shut up, you're already singing the first part dude."

Michael pushes me back "Ok so you know what this means right? SING BATTLE"
Then Michael suddenly starts yodeling and screaming and Ashton and me join in.

Luke laughs at us and shakes his head "I hate this band."

After joking around for a while, Michael looks at me and says "Ok no but seriously Calum, do your thing it's yours."
I smile "Thanks guys, it means a lot of me."

Emily POV //
I sigh: "Why me? Why don't you just take someone who is a fan with you?"

My friend smiles at me: "Come on Emily! You'll love it, I won VIP tickets, with a meet and greet after the show, please please please. You're my best friend."

She was right, we do everything together, Chloe and I have been friends for already 2 years now. I smiled: "Okay, I was just joking around, ofcourse I'll come with you! You know I'll never let you go alone right?"

She gives me a hug: "Thank you, it means so much to meeee! I still can't believe it! Meet and greet with 5sos oh my god, I'm already smiling from the thought of it."

I think she's really adorable, she is just so fond of this band. Honestly, I've never heard of them, I don't know any song of them... I don't think it's really my type of music.

Back to the present //

Calum POV //
"I love to be back in Australia." Ashton said. I nod, he was right.

The tour was so much fun, we almost finished it. We're having our last concert tonight in Sydney, I'm honestly really looking forward to it. I don't know, I just have a good feeling about it.

Michael sighs "I'm so hungry guys, can someone please get some food?"

Luke laughs "I'm also a bit hungry actually, should we go out and grab some lunch?"

Emily's POV //

Today was the day, the concert. Everyone is tweeting about it. I am with Chloe, but she didn't pay any attention to me. She's always on Twitter, like always. In the beginning I thought it was a bit weird, but now I understand.

Then Chloe suddenly screams: "OKAY THEY ARE ALREADY IN TOWN, I JUST SAW A UPDATE ACCOUNT AND THEY SAID THEY PROBABLY WENT TO A RESTAURANT."

I laugh: "Okay, that's nice for them... and?"

Chloe looks at me: "AND? Let's go!"

"Oh, you also want to look for them right now?"

Chloe stares at me "Of course, are you crazy? Let's go." While we are walking towards the restaurant they were spotted at, I see a lot of fans.

Chloe freaks out : "OMG, I THINK I CAN SEE THEM A LITTLE BIT, COME COME COME!" She tries to go through all the screaming fans. I really don't understand why they are so excited.

I sigh: "We really have to do this?"

Chloe: "Yes ofcourse, AAAH OMG THEY ARE COMING, THEY ARE COMING."

I saw 3 boys walking out of the restaurant, I should be honest, they are kinda cute. Then I see the last one coming out of the store, I couldn't see his face clearly. Oh hey he looks up, wow! He is pretty handsome.

I ask: "Who is that last one?"

Chloe laughs: "Oh so you like him huh? that's Calum, CALUM ! I LOVE YOU."

Calum looks our way, I don't know if he was looking at me, or Chloe, or the girls behind me. But he smiles and waved, I feel something in my stomach. I don't know, his laugh was just so cute.

A few hours later we were already heading to the  venue. Chloe really wants to see the boys again, even though we have a meet & greet? Hmm, I don't get it.

Some update-accounts posted that they are shopping, so some fans went there and others are queuing in front of the venue. But Chloe didn't want to go there, because she wanted to wait at the back-entrance of the arena.

Chloe screams in my ear: "OMG THERE THEY ARE OMG AND THEY ARE NOT SURROUNDED BY FANS, SO THIS IS OUR CHANCE, COME COME COME."

She pulls me with her. The boys didn't have much security with them, because we were basically the only two people there.

Chloe screams: "WAIT!" The boys looked up, they really didn't expect someone. The boys smile and one of them had curls and he waves at us.

Chloe runa towards them: "Oh god, can I please have a hug?" They all hug her.

They are looking at me, they are probably expecting that I'm also going to ask for a hug.
Honestly, I think I would like that, but I thought it was a bit weird because I don't even know what their names are! I'm a little ashamed of myself.

Ashton smiles: "You don't want a hug?" I blush, I walk towards him and give him a hug.

Ashton: "Sorry girls, we have to go! Getting ready for tonight, we will see you there all right? Bye! "

They all wave at us and they walk inside the arena.  Chloe suddenly starts to cry and hug me.

Chloe screams: "HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? I HUGGED THEM" And then she freaks out and I don't even know what she was saying wow.

After she calmed down, we walked towards the entrance of the venue so we could queue.

I ask Chloe how the m&g is. Chloe explains: "Well, I heard that most of the m&gs are really short, you don't even have time to really talk to them. But I don't know if our m&g is different, because it is after the show instead of before the concert.." After that, Chloe explained everything about 5sos like their names and when they formed their band and stuff.

We have front row tickets, so we are going to be so close from the stage! During the concert I was really enjoying it, I didn't know the songs though. But I was singing like I knew them and I was also screaming like all the other fans. I mean, why not?

Then they are going to sing the last song. The handsome boy, named Calum says: "I hope you enjoyed it! This is our last song, sing the words with us if you know them. We love you and thank you!" He smiles.
Michael screams "Thank you alllllllll!"

Michael starts singing
"Six weeks since I have been away,
now you're saying everything has changed.
And I'm afraid that I might be losing you."

I looked at him, he has red hair and if I have to be honest, it looks so damn good on him. I look beside me and I see that Chloe already has tears in her eyes.

Then the chorus came
"Are we wasting time? talking on a broken line.
Telling you I haven't seen your face in ages.
I feel like we're as close as strangers."

They are really good singers actually, I'm stupid that I've never checked them out before.

"I won't give up, even though it hurts so much. Every night I'm losing you in a thousand faces, now it feels we're as close as strangers."

Then Calum starts singing
"Late night calls and another text,
is this as good as we're gonna get?
Another time zone taking me away from you.
Livin dreams in fluorescent lights,
while you and I are running out of time."

I was watching him from very close, wow. He sings it so emotionally, it was so touching. 

"But you know that I'll always wait for you."
