You may not have heard of it, but no Kirby list would be complete without some mention of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. As the first 3D Kirby game, everything about this game, from the story to the gameplay, is just amazing. Collecting those Crystal Shards added a touch of challenge, as obtaining every one revealed the true final boss and ending. Kirby 64's Copy Ability range, on the other hand, is lacking, as its only Abilities are Fire, Ice, Bomb, Stone, Spark, and Cutter. However, this was balanced by a little thing called ability fusions. That's right, if you get two Copy Abilities, you get a mix-up or a boost of their powers! Some honorable mentions are the Explosive Shuriken (Bomb + Cutter), the Flame Sword (Fire + Cutter), and the Light Saber (Spark + Cutter). And oh yeah, the bosses. The bosses are so fun and relatively challenging that even Whispy Woods is awesome! Honorable bosses in the game include Pix, the HRH, Miracle Matter, and Zero Two. Overall, Kirby 64 is such a dang fine game, and it held a lot of standards for other Kirby games.
