ZAVIAN'S POV

I woke up only to squint my eyes from the harshness of the light. Or should I say the light blazing from my TV. I groaned and rubbed my eyes tiredly before looking to my flanks. My two best friends, Sam, my future Beta and James, my future Gamma, were sprawled out on my bed next to me.

We'd decided to have a movie night and stayed up till 1 in the morning watching movies and binging on junk food. We would've stayed up later if we didn't need to train today.

My dad, Alpha Logan Hendricks of The Moon Shard Pack, trains the rest of the pack regularily. My uncle, Alpha Brady visits occasionally to torment my dad. It's seriously hilarious to watch.

I sat up tiredly arching my back as I stretched. A groan escaped my mouth as my back clicked. I turned my head side to side cracking my neck before looking at the time. My eyes widened.

"Shit! Wake up!" I shouted jumping from the bed. My sudden movement caused the bed to bounce, flinging my friends onto the floor.

They both landed with loud 'thumps'. I watched as they both jumped up scanning their surroundings and growling warningly. I burst out laughing resulting in me falling head first off my bed.

Groaning in pain, I held my head from it's sudden connection with the dark wood floor. As I stood holding my arm out for balance, I was surrounded by deep rumbling laughter. I growled angrily before kicking the two morons out of my room.

35 minutes later we arrived at the local park; It was opposite Delgato's Palace. I smiled recalling my father telling me of my mothers bold moves on their first day out; my mom was grinning sheepishly and looked like she was about to die of embarrassment.

Me, Sam and James were jogging, well, speed-walking for werewolves, through the park when a girl ran a few metres in front of us. She was short compared to my 6'1 figure, about 5'3, had tinted purple wavy hair that was just past her shoulders, and smooth light caramel skin that accentuated her chubby hourglass figure.

She was looking into the tree line that she had ran out of, we had now stopped and were looking at her with interest. "Kronas!" she shouted into the trees, completely oblivious to us watching her.

I heard a howl and a second later a wolf jumped out of the tree line. It ran straight for the girl and my protective instincts kicked in. I was about to jump in the way when the girl laughed happily and knelt down hugging the wolf.

"I swear you're gonna get us into trouble one day" she said with a pout on her lush kissable lips. The wolf barked and nuzzled her neck making her laugh.

I saw the wolf tense then turn to us, it growled baring it's teeth and stood in an attack position. The girl looked up and my stormy grey eyes met her green-brown ones. My wolf growled inwardly and all I could think of was... mine.

The girl set her hand on the wolves neck and spoke all the while staring intently into my eyes. "Kronas stop" she said in a slight authoritative voice. The wolf sat straight closing it's mouth still growling quietly.

"Hi" the girl said with a quick small smile. I nodded curtly too breathless to speak "sorry about him, he's very protective" she said sheepishly. I chuckled and spoke "it's fine, what is he?" I asked curiously. My voice sounded deeper than usual, a sign my wolf was making an appearance.

'How can you expect me not to? She's beautiful' he said dreamily; I laughed inwardly at him. I focused back on the girl who had a huge grin. "He's a wolf dog hybrid, his name's Kronas" she said grinning down at the dog or wolf.. The wolf looked up at her and nuzzled her hip.

"My name is Zavian, this is Sam and James" I said gesturing to ourselves.

'Shit that's a big ass dog' Sam mind-linked us. I heard James choke on a laugh and played it out as a cough. The girl nodded "I'm Kaira, nice to meet you guys" she said with a smile on her beautiful face. "Believe me, the pleasure is all mine" I told her sincerely.

'Ooooh looks like little future Alpha over here has a crush' James mind-linked in a high pitched voice. Sam snorted and crouched over coughing as he inhaled too much air. I resisted the urge to growl at them.

'Respect your Luna' I hissed at them. At this they both straightened up with wide eyes 'w-what?' Sam asked 'sh-she's our- shit sorry bro' James said in shock.

I nodded stiffly at him. "Erm well, I er, gotta go soo, bye" Kaira said pointing behind her and stepping back. My wolf growled at me.

'You stupid human don't let her get away!' he hissed at me. I growled warningly at him 'do you not think I know that!?' I retorted agitatedly. He grunted and cut off the mindlink.

"Wait!" I shouted quickly, Kaira seemed shocked and jumped slightly making Kronas growl at me. I wracked my brain for ideas before one popped into mind. I straightened up and mind-linked the guys.
