Welcome to heaven

I must have fallen asleep at one point, because when I open my eyes I'm lying down on a huge white bed slightly stained with crimson. The rest of the room looks like a school nurse's office, but I appear to be alone at the moment. I move slightly before releasing that my hands are cuffed in front of me, and attached to a chain secured to the wall. My previously damaged wing is spread out on the bed beside me, while my good one is tucked next to my side. Although I seem to be all healed, my body is still slightly sore.

I've been reclothed in a flowing long white shirt reaching to halfway down my thigh with a green belt cinching around my waist. The pants are a light green, and extremely flowing as well, like a pair of hippie pants. A weird felt collar like thing is around my neck, and I'm not sure, but it feels like its preventing me from using any type of magic.

I sit up slowly, and see my knife and belt trapped within a strange bubble floating above the desk. I stumble to my feet, and walk towards the only window in the room. Outside is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen; bright green gross lines the edges of off-white cobblestone paths, glistening gold light poles are places every few feet, cottage like homes sit neatly in line, all of different colors, the sky is so blue, I wouldn't be surprised if it had never seen a bit of pollution.

The door suddenly opens, and I'm awoken from my little trance. The same guy from before steps inside, and gently closes the door behind him before sitting in the chair next to the desk. He crosses his legs casually an just stares at me. My heat is beating quickly, and I want so badly just to curl up in a ball and disappear. I try to keep calm however, an I'm slowly able to coax my breathing and heart beat down. He smile apologetically, and offers his hand to me, "forgive the rude introduction yesterday, my name is Nuntius." I approach his with false confidence, and take his hand.

He smiles in return, "Amare, I really have wanted to meet you. The day Stella fell, was honestly one of the worst days of my life. She was my younger sister, and I couldn't protect her... When I found out what happened, she was already pregnant with you. I didn't know how to feel, I hated your father for causing her to fall in love, but she looked so happy with him. I saw you when you were an infant, and I was in so much pain, because I could never see my niece in person. But when Stella died, she put a cover over you and your father, preventing me from seeing you. No one knew what kind person you were growing into, or what your horns looked like, it was a bit of big deal up here, after all, your mother was the head healer. Finally, the cover began to fade, and we could see your general location. Obviously, I was chosen to collect you so that everyone can see how you've grown. I'm the only one who knows what your horns look like, I wanted you to see the shock on everyone's faces. I hope you can forgive me Amare, I was just a bit overzealous. I truly apologize for what I did back there..."

I just kinda stand there, he couldn't be serious, is he really my uncle. Then again, his eyes are watery, like he's about to cry, and his whole body is relaxed, like he had nothing to hide. "I... I can't remember my mother... What was she like?" It slipped out so suddenly, I don't know what came over me. I look down ashamed, but he lets out a small chuckle. "She was beauty itself. She was the kindest woman I've ever met. Her horns matched her perfectly. You should have seen how happy she got when she successfully healed someone, her face lit up, and you could truly tell that was her passion. I'm sure you've seen pictures of her from your father, but let me tell you, they don't do her justice..... But, I must admit, when she fell, and she was with your father, it was like she had found her true purpose. Never in all my time up here, had I seen my little sister more alive." His features are soft, and now he really is crying. I walk over to him slowly, and pull a chair up next to him. The person who stolen away yesterday, had completely broken down in front of me.

His eyes wander up to mine, and a slight smile graces his lips. "You look so much like her." He smiles, with tears slowly rolling down his cheeks. His hand shakes as he brings it up to my face, his fingers brushing aside a tear I didn't even know was there. I suddenly pull him in to a hug, breaking into tears, I have a family...

He pulls back after a second and takes out a handkerchief, wiping my cheeks dry. He gets to his feet and smiles, "I'm sorry Amare."
I just nod in response, and turn back to the window I was previously looking out of. "The outfit suits you nicely I see. I allowed the head tailor the color of your horns to make it, but I couldn't allow her gossip to ruin the surprise of your horn shape, so although the color is right, the final design may be a bit more practical." He laughs, "although I can't say you don't look good in it, fighting in it could become challenging." I nod again, and look down, it's true the flowing fabric could get in the way.

He lightly grips my hand, "are you ready to see where your mother came from?"
"Yeah." He smiles and holds my hand a bit tighter before opening the door.
"Welcome to heaven Amare."
