psst,psst Cole taps my shoulder and I ignore him concentrating on my art teacher."Class,I want you to write a phrase or word on this piece of paper." she says while handing us paper "I'll be coming around and helping and checking your progress." and that was our cue to begin working.I settle on what I'm going to design and begin my master piece,line after line.I finish and stare at my work,it reads 'society kills' the words are centered in the heart of the horizontal paper.The background takes place in a hallway,on some of the lockers there are post-it's that say 'freak'.Other lockers have the words 'emo' or 'loser' written in black marker across it.I look up and ms.Eliot is standing over my shoulder observing my work,"do you like it?" i ask unsure if my work is good enough "its perfect." she smiles then takes my paper."class take a look at summer's art." she holds up the piece of paper "this is art." she adds then the bell rings."see you tomorrow." she dismisses us,I walk down the hall and turn the corner to my locker and empty my book bag.I take only my science notebook and social studies since i have those classes back to back then chorus then ballet lastly.I close my locker then walk to science and take a seat,shit I totally forgot the science teacher doesn't even know me I get up and walk over to the teachers desk."Hi I'm summer evergreen,I'm kind of new." I introduce myself grey eyes look up at me "Oh,I know who you are." he replies "What do you mean you know who I am?" i ask curiously "Ms.Simon won't shut up about how your disrespectful." he replies amused "Oh,right." i answer then make my way to my seat but accidentally bump into a cheerleader."God I'm so-" i start "Shut up,watch your step you little whore." she cuts me off "Woah,what the fuck are you talking about?" i snap "Back off of Ryder." she replies stepping closer "bite me,slut." i add."girls!" the teacher yells at us,we both snap our heads in the direction of his voice "what Mr.Mark."  Blondie asks "sit down,summer and you miss hill to the principles office." he commands her "stay out of my way." she hisses then moves past me "sure thing." i reply sarcastically which gains a laugh from a nerdy looking kid sitting by himself."something funny?" i ask walking over to him and he gets all nervous "ple-please,don't hurt me." he replies "relax,dude i was just joking." i pat his shoulder then sit in my seat and begin working,somewhere in the middle of Newtons Laws Of Physics I looked back to the kid that laughed at my sarcastic comment,his dark brown hair almost black was really curly and he wore these huge nerd glasses.He also wears a grey beanie that fits perfectly,I'm staring him down when his vibrant emerald green eyes join my dark blue ones.He blushes and reveals pearly whites and red cheeks "aw adorable." i whisper to myself and turn back around to face the board,"We have a partner assignment to do class,so pick your partners." Mr.Mark announces to the class and with that the bell rings I gather my things then walk out of the room on my way to social studies a hand lands on my shoulder I turn around to see him "whats up curly?" i greet him "hey,I was wondering.." he starts looking down at his feet nervously "would you like to be my partner?" he looks up at me with one eye open expecting me to murder him "I mean it wont be like a date or anything." he adds blushing enormously "Sure,I'd love to." i reply placing my hand on his shoulder momentarily,his eyes light up and I swear he's about to bounce off the walls when he rethinks his reaction "okay,cool." he answers trying not to be excited "later,i have class." i say "right,um me too." he replies and backs away then bumps into some old lady from the office.Then walks around her apologizing "YESS!" i see him cheer down the hall I chuckle and head into my classroom.I settle myself in the front of the room and take out my notebook,the teacher walks over to me and looks puzzled "Are you new here?" the old lady asks me baby blue eyes peering at me through her pink small old people glasses "Uh,yeah.Sorry my name is Summer Evergreen." i smile "Hello,Ms.Ann." she smiles at me "would you like to answer the question on the board?" I nod and walk up to the board and pick up the chalk and suddenly my hands have a mind of its own,finally i put down the chalk and look over to Ms.Ann waiting for a reaction.She smiles widely obviously amazed with my answer then her old fragile body walks over to me and hugs me "perfect." she excitedly says hugging me "yay." i mock her tone then sit down next she gives some boring lecture that takes the rest of the period.I walk my way quietly over to chorus then seat myself next to sapphire "Hi." she hugs me overly excited like always "your such a fangirl." i reply shes about to peak when our teacher cuts her off "One week left,for our projects so you should be preparing for the talent show." me and sapphire exchange the same look "shit,we need a song!" I panic "okay,ill come over today and well pick the song and practice how we're going to preform the song and stuff like that." she replies "okay." i smile and we talk about Ryder for the remaining period "omg he did that?!" she asks disbelievingly "yep." i reply gathering my things and walking out the classroom door with her and the class."wow,hes a douche." she comments "you taking ballet?" i change the subject "yeah?" she answers "yay." i hug her excitedly and we go to ballet.After ballet we're literally dying for some water so we walk together out of the studio to the water fountain when guess who shows up."hey baby." he greets me "what do you want? we're over." i snap at him then he slaps me the force knocks me down onto the floor and he picks me back up by my pony tail "we're over when I say we are." he says angrily then throws me back on the floor "if you say anything about this ill hurt you too." he says to sapphire then walks away.I get myself up and find sapphire standing terrified of what just happened and i bring her into a hug because she's more terrified than me.I reassure her that things will be okay then i tell her to go home ill be fine.She nods and i exit the school and get into the car and drive home,i unlock my door and walk up to my room.I drop my things on my bed and walk into the bathroom staring at my reflection tracing over the red mark on my face.I grab the razor and begin to cut,one for getting into this,another for not fighting back,and lastly another for being so stupid.Okay so im bleeding so i know im alive now,i sit on my countertop and begin to cry.When theres a knock at my door,i quickly dry my tears and walk downstairs and open the door "Cole?".
