He could hear Alexis shouting inside the room as he lock the door. He closed his eyes as he placed the necklace bearing the key around his neck. He felt sorry for her but he had no choice. This has to be done for her safety.
As he walked along the dark hallway of the basement, he heard his phone rang. Alexis's pleas are echoing in the room so he quickly climbed the stairs and went outside of the rest house. He went out of the house and answered it.
"Blake." he said as he put the phone in his ear.
A woman spoke on the other line, "He can't wait any longer. Have you found the girl?"
"I am tracking her. I will update you. I know where she goes to school."
"Good. Do it quick or he'll have our heads for dinner," she said bitterly. "And be careful, brother."
"I will," Blake said then hung up.
He walked back to the house and went to the kitchen. Alexis needs to eat. She needs to understand everything that is happening right now. But he had no idea how to start.
Blake quietly fixed a sandwich. Placed it on a plate and filled a glass with orange juice. He placed them on a tray and took them to the basement where Alexis is locked in.
He opened the door with one hand, gracefully carrying the tray of food on the other. Alexis looked up at him. Eyes red and filled with tears. He wanted to look away thinking that he is violating her innocence when he looks at her barely covered body.
"Please let me go," Alexis whispered between the sobs. "I want to go home."
He switched on the lights and placed the tray on a table near the door. Alexis looked at the room and saw a bed on the left next to the table. Her arms are sore from being tied up and she would do anything so she can curl up in that bed and cry.
"I can't. this is the only way that I can save you."
"Save me from what? From who?"
"I'm sorry but I can't tell you anything yet. Be patient princess," he walked towards her and looked at her face. She was surprised to see pain in his eyes. He touched her cheek again and she trembled with fear.
"Don't be scared," he said as he unlocked the cuffs on her arms. "I will never hurt you, princess."
