Harry is my Matthew.Fiona
I volunteered to drive, which Rain readily accepted, as she was still fumbling to put her make up on while settling her seat belt. Brennan was meeting us later at the mall. She was too keen on getting me a whole set of wardrobe, on her, not because I can't afford, as I have set my whole amount of inheritance from my grandparents, as well as my parents, for college and after college where I will be living in a place in Europe, that was already stucked on my mind-- Germany, Netherlands, Italy, or Switzerland, so I can so much fend for myself. But knowing her, she would not hesitate to shove her debit card, (through the generosity of her pilot Dad), to my throat just so she would get what she wanted. And that was to flaunt me in school.
I headed to the parking lot at the front of the huge mall. We rushed towards the entrance and inched our way to each and every girl boutique you can think of. I've tried on every blouse, dress, pants, shorts and a few new tshirts, of course with a girlier touch, unlike my existing shirts which were either black or white or dark brown or dark blue. She literally, dragged me to the shops and let me stayed in the fitting rooms as she piled and piled all the shit she wanted me to wear. Last stop, was Victoria's Secret where she literally pounced on me to get matching bras and lacy panties. I got brief type panties since I have been aware. I didn't know. They were just more comfortable to use. She got me at least 10 pairs, including a two piece dark blue bikini, in case we went to a swimming party she said. I thought I can always fake a stomach ache or something when that time came.
"We'll meet at the food court", she yelled after we ditched all our bags at her car. She was getting Aunt Amy's dry clean and will be meeting Brennan. " Yeah, I'll just go down the bookstore, and see if I can get a few things", as I went the other way jiggling her keys on my fingers.
The bookstore was probably my favorite place at the mall. No doubt I enjoyed reading on my phone, but reading while holding a real book gave a different feeling. Smelling and flipping each page gave you some kind of satisfaction the ebook can't give. I picked up a paper back sample, I thought it was a best seller as it was placed on the center. Started reading the synopsis as I adjusted my glasses which keep on falling again, and flipped to the last chapter, a sort of habit, I guess. I always wanted a love story to have a happy ending. Too engrossed, I became oblivious to someone staring. I thought I felt him staring from the moment I picked up the book. I looked up through my glasses, and shot him a fraction of a second glance. And I saw that who was staring at me was the most beautiful face I have ever laid my eyes on. Well, Jeremy was good-looking, being a jock and all. I had my share of competion from the slutty cheerleaders. I can still remember how they hated me, why Jeremy opted for someone like me. A tomboy who hates dresses and make-up. I didn't care how I looked and how I dressed. I did'nt care about boys then. And here I was, swooning for this stranger. He has dark brown, curly hair, it was long which almost reached his shoulders, but I did'nt see the color of his eyes. Stupid glasses! He was tall, I thought he would be taller than John, a six footer.
He still did not make a move, still there gawking at me while I was pretending to be absorbed on the book.
Suddenly, I heard the most beautiful voice just behind me, as I saw him picked a similar book on the table I was leaning on. "Did you know that they are making a movie out of this shit?!", he said. I looked up and glanced around me, surely he was talking to me. " Erm, yeah I heard", I stammered, "that's why I was curious. This must be good," I blurted as I went back reading awkwardly avoiding his gaze. "I have'nt seen you around here. Are you a tourist?", he asked as he was still looking at me while flipping the pages of the book he was holding randomly.
" No, not a tourist. I'll start college here", I replied as I caught a glimpse of his smile showing his dimples. Holy crap! Was this a sign or something? I fell in love with Jeremy's dimples. He also had two while I got one. That's why he always made me smile. He told me I was prettier when I smiled, and I guessed I have been telling him the same.
"Well, I'll be damned if you're talking about York here?", he asked again now placing the book back on the table.
" Hell yeah you'll be damned, it is York," I said casually.
