The car hummed to life
Time for a trip on the road
Senses were knifed
Dulled and smallerThe skies were dark
Empty of stars
But this place held a spark
So we head to these places,
Without destinationsWe hid in close spaces
In time we heard chanting
Somehow mellifluous
Of names familiarly chanted
In time
There were not enough monsters
As they had been kindThen the beautiful girl
With the chips in her face
And the draping cloak
Was crying softly
As she was a joke
We found her there
And took her back home[this is quite literal as it was a dream I had a long time ago and just stuck with me]
