Eleven

Shmem yawned.

"I'm going to sleep." She told them.

"We all better get to sleep...especially Billy." Joey said.

They cleared off the bed.

Shmem got under the covers and immediately fell asleep.

When she woke up, the room was dark, and everyone was asleep. Except for Billy.
He was standing by the window watching the light go back and forth. She got up and walked over to him.

"You okay?" She asked.

"Yeah. I'm good." He said. "Just thinking about tomorrow."

She could tell he was worried. She got closer and hugged him tight.

"You got this. I believe in you, Billy." She told him.

"Thanks, Shmem" He said hugging back.

They stood there for a while looking out the window.

"Ok, I'm going back to sleep now." She yawned.

"I guess I should too."

"Billy?"

"Yeah?"

"I think after Joey, you're the bravest mother fucker I've ever met." She said.

"Thanks" he laughed.

Then she kissed him on the cheek and whispered, "You got this."
