A Stolen Kiss

Chapter 5

I slapped his hand away from me. I was just so done with life at this point. First I was sold out by Camus and now Masato. I don't think there's anyone for me to trust in this world anymore.
"Aw. Come on (Y/N). Stop making such a sour face. Just accept the fact that you lost against me," Ren cooed.

"Tch. Whatever," I muttered.

I scooted over so that I was sitting behind the driver's seat, that way Ren couldn't reach me. I stared out the window, watching the blurred scenery fly by. My eyelids starting to feel heavy and I slowly dozed off.

"Ren, do you think I should wake her up?"

"Yeah. We're almost at the palace anyways."

I felt someone shaking my shoulder and saying something. I don't know how long the drive was to the palace, but I know it was long because when I opened my eyes, the sky was dark outside and stars were already twinkling.

"You're awake. That's good," came Masato's voice.

I was still in the car but this time Ren must've been driving because Masato was sitting right next to me.

'I'm glad my princess is finally awake," Ren said to me, "By the way, you're really cute when you sleep."

I blushed at his compliment. Why is it that everything this guy says to me makes me feel vulnerable? I hate his guts yet at the same time my heart flutters with his compliments. I shook my head. No this isn't possible. I should stop thinking about this. Masato looked at me like something was wrong with me but he just shrugged and continued doing whatever he was doing on his phone.

"Um. Ren. May I ask why you why you brought me here to the palace," I asked.

"There's a party to celebrate my brother's marriage," he said, "but unlike the after party of the wedding, which only had close friends and family invited, this party has any and all high ranking officials in the Hua Empire. Most of the people there expect me to get married soon and you will be attending as my prospective wife."

"What! Ren, you promised that we wouldn't get married so soon!" I exclaimed.

"(Y/N), I never break any promises. Just trust me on this. We won't get married until you're ready. Which I know could be never. Hence the reason why I'm presenting you as 'prospective' as in 'expected but might not happen' and not simply as my future wife," he replied.

I didn't know how to react. Ren was actually being considerate of my feelings. I just hope he doesn't push himself onto me if he ever got tired of waiting.

"Oi Ren. Hurry up stop the car or do you intend on running over that tree," Masato stated, a bit amused.

Ren stepped on the brakes before he crashed into the tree and turned the engine off. Masato got out of the car after him and I followed. We entered the palace but this time I was directed to a hallway that led to the rooms and private chambers. I followed Ren and Masato until they stopped in front of one of the room.

"You'll be staying in this room during your stay here," Masato explained to me, "Ren's room is right down the hall to your left and mine is right across from your's. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask."

"Okay," I simply replied.

Masato handed the room keys to me and headed for his room to go get changed for the party. However, Ren stayed behind.

"There's a dress, shoes, and some accessories laid out for you on the bed when you go in. Wear that for the party and wait for me in front of my room. I'll escort you to the party," he said to me.

Just before he left to go get changed, he leaned in and whispered in my ear, "I really do love you," and kissed me.

My face burned a bright red color. I was startled by this sudden action. My hand slowly touched my lips as I stared blankly at his back while he walked towards his room. He looked back to see me staring and winked. He then opened the door to his room and disappeared from my sight.

"He kissed me," I whispered to myself.

This prince finally got me ensnared in his trap. I think I fell in love faster than I thought possible. Maybe. Just maybe it won't be so bad to be in love with a flirt.

Ren P.O.V

I kissed her. I finally kissed the love of my life. I can still feel her lips on my own. Their softness was like a fluffy blanket. Her lips were pink. Really pink and without any lipstick too. I never thought it would be possible for a girl to seduce me by just being herself. Man I can't believe I'm blushing because of my own actions. I don't know if I can keep myself away from her any longer.
