Maya let out a sigh as she jiggled the key in her lock. Once the door opened, she let herself in, kicking off her boots.

She made her way to the kitchen, her hand on the fridge door handle, before she froze.

She wasn't going to get any skinnier by eating.

She stepped away slowly, and sat on the tiny couch. She pulled her knees up to her chest, thinking.

She had never really felt insecure about her appearance.

She didn't like the feeling.

She felt like there were other people in her apartment, all watching her, picking out her flaws.

She looked at her thighs, and her stomach.

Why am I so fat?

I wish I was pretty and skinny-

Stop.

She needed someone to talk to, she had to stop herself from thinking these thoughts.

Maya grabbed her boots and raced out the front door, her feet leading herself.

After 5 minutes, she found herself out side of a huge house.

This wasn't Riley's place.

This was...

Maya squinted at the address, then compared it to the one scrawled on her arm.

It was Lucas's house.

Why did she come to Lucas?

Before she realized what was happening, she walked up the fancy stone steps and rang the shiny doorbell.

A few footsteps were heard, and the door was pulled open.

A beautiful woman stood at the door. She had short hair cropped above her shoulders, a slender frame covered by a beautiful blue dress, and gorgeous blue eyes.

"Hello dear, can I help you?" Her voice was light and airy, and complimented with a warm smile.

"Uh, I'm one of Lucas's friends. I-I just wanted to see if he was home?"

"Oh, come on in dear, I'll go get him," she smiled and walked away.

Maya took some time to take in the house, with gleaming lights, a large staircase, and a huge ceiling that domed above her. The floor was a light oak, and the walls were all shades of browns. They were artistically decorated and filled the house.

"Maya?" a voice called from behind her.

She turned around and saw Lucas standing there, with a smile but confused look.

"Oh, hey.." she trailed off.

"What are you doing here?" He stepped a little closer.

"I-uh, I wanted to come see you." She cringed as the sentence left her mouth.

"Oh, well, come on up." He smiled, and after a slight moment of hesitation, gently grabbed her hand, leading her through the house.

She blushed as she felt the familiar heat seep through her skin, she kind of missed it. The way it warmed her up, and gave her a fuzzy feeling.

She almost didn't want him to let go.

And he didn't.
