(Time skip to Tuesday)

Riiiiiinnnnngggggg!

The bell rang, and the students piled out of their class.

Maya began the walk to Algebra, nervous thought racing in her head.

She had felt pretty good about the test, it was pretty easy.

She was sure she got at least a B, but she couldn't help but feel nervous.

A shoulder bumped into her.

"Hey," Lucas grinned.

She smiled and they walked in silence together. She had went to his house Monday afternoon too, and they had begun to become better friends.

"You nervous?"

"Nah, why should I be? I mean, I'm only getting the test result of a test that I've fried my brain for, and plus, it only determines if I'm stupid or not." She shrugged her shoulder, and Lucas playfully rolled his eyes.

"C'mon Maya, I know you'll get an A."

They walked in and took their seats, Lucas's right behind Maya's.

"Okay class, today, I'm going to be handing back your D-2 tests, and I have to say, I'm pretty proud of some people in this room. Others... put in a little more effort."

Miss Yi gave a little smile and walked around the room, handing back test, upside down.

She placed Lucas's test down, then Maya's, then proceeded to the front of the room.

She took a deep breath, then flipped over the test.

Oh my gosh.

What is happening.

Maya got...

A 64.

She sat there with a blank stare, and she knew that Lucas had peeped over her shoulder.

"Maya..." He said softly, placing his hand on her shoulder,

If she wasn't so distraught, she would of been hyperventilating.

"I told you Lucas," she whispered,"I'm hopeless."

She sat the rest of the class with a lost look, staring straight ahead.

The bell rang and she slowly gathered her books, and Lucas stood behind her.

"I-I'm sorry Maya, I'm a horrible tutor." Lucas looked at the ground, and this time, Maya put her hand on his shoulder.

"Listen Cowboy, you are an amazing tutor! You never gave up on me the entire time, and you tried your hardest. It's not your fault I suck."

He was about to protest but Maya spoke up.

"There is no point in arguing. Let's go," she said, pulling him along behind her. He sighed and walked beside her, and they walked into their next class: Social Studies.

"Ms. Hart, Mr. Friar," Mr. Matthews said, nodding at them as they walked in.

Farkle and Riley walked in shortly after, both laughing.

They slid in their seats, and she faced forward, after smiling at Riley.

"Okay class, today, we are gonna go a little more in depth over the-" Mr. Matthews was cut off as a lady walked into the room. She wore a red dress that reached below her knees, and her hair fell over her shoulders.

She walked over and whispered a few words to Mr. Matthews and he nodded.

"Give me a moment class, I need to have a word with Ms. Luther." He and Ms. Luther stepped outside, and the second they did, the class arose in whispers.

"What was that about?"

"What's happening?"

"Do you know why she's here?"

They were hushed as the adults walked back in, and Mr. Matthews looked at Maya.

"Ms. Hart, Ms. Luther needs to speak with you."

She looked at Riley, then Lucas, then Farkle.

She slowly got up, then walked out of the room.

"Dad, what's going on?" Riley asked, panicked.

"It's not my position to tell you honey, Maya will tell you, when she's ready."

He turned back to the chalk board, starting the lesson.
