Abnormal Acquaintances: Chapter 6

As I started to daydream, I would hear Mrs.Sanders talking. She started off class with passing out the textbooks that we needed for the class. It was a literature book, a grammar book. She told us that won't receive a vocabulary textbook, because she will give us the list of words every week. She started calling the students to receive their books. Since I was somewhere in the middle. I really didn't pay attention, but I was cautious about when she said my name.

I got my notebook and a pen and just started doodling. When I was doodling, my mind wandered off. I started to think about James and how he is absent on the second day of school. I was thinking about how strangely polite he is and how he is a gentleman. No guy is like that. It is very hard to find a guy with manners. I am not obsessed with him like the other girls are. He is attractive, but that doesn't mean anything at this point. Just because we had one conversation doesn't mean we have a future together.

I heard the teacher called my name, so I got up and got my books. When she handed me my books, Mrs.Sanders said "I look forward to being your teacher and working with you." That gave me a good feeling for a good reason. "Thank you." I said and returned to my seat. Mrs.Sanders went on with the list. My mind went back to wander about many things. The first thing was what Mrs.Sanders had said. I was surprised that she got a good impression of me. She doesn't want to really know me. My mind jumped from topic to topic. They were all about events and relationships and things in my life. I started thinking about James again. I need to stop! I started feeling very strange. The minute I think that I experience something I have never experienced before. In my mind, I see what is a flashback. I am not aware of my current surroundings.

The flashback was in a forest covered with snow, and it's winter. I am running. I don't know if I am somebody else or myself. I hear something in the distance, like a cry for a help. That's when the vision/flashback ends. I somewhat move in my seat and drop all my books on the floor. Everybody stops and looks at me, including Mrs.Sanders. "Are you alright?" she asks. "Can you excuse me?" I said and I got up and started walking towards the door. As I get halfway there, I hear a yes from her. The yes sounded like it was in the distance. What is going on?

I reach the door and exit the room. The hallways are empty and its quiet. I take a couple steps, intending to go to the bathroom, and everything goes black.

I open my eyes, at first it is blurry, but then I open my eyes completely. I sit up and I am on a bed at the nurse's office. The last thing I remember was getting out of English class and walking down the hallway and that's it. I look around the office and I am by myself. I try to move, but my legs won't move. My legs are asleep and it somewhat hurts. I lay back down and try to relax. I hear the door open, so I get up. It is the nurse.

"What is happening to me? I can't move my legs, I guess they are asleep." I said, the most relaxed way I can.

"Well..." the nurse started off, "You got into some type of shock and that's what cause you to faint. What caused the shock, I don't know. Your legs are still asleep from the faint, but they should recuperate in a couple of minutes. Take this."

She handed me a cup of water and some medication. I grabbed it and took it. I felt a little better.

"Just relax for a couple of minutes until you regain feeling in your legs, than you can return to your day." The nurse said as she left.

I try to process what just happened in the past of couple minutes, but I am still lightheaded. I must have fallen pretty hard. I remember the weird scene/moment or vison, I don't even know how to call it! It was the strangest thing. It seemed like it was a movie, but it was so real. I want to understand it better, but I don't want to strain myself even more than the position I am already in.
