Dan was on YouNow, doing his liveshow. It'd only been a few minutes of talking to the fans before he heard Phil walk into the room, carrying their daughter on his hip.
"Hey, Dan, I know you're doing a liveshow right now, but could you hold Winnie for a bit? I've been trying to clean up dinner for ages and she keeps trying to latch on to me like a little monkey, or something." He chuckled lightly, bouncing the baby on his hip to keep her happy. She'd just turned one three days ago, on April 27th, and was still wearing the flower crown they'd given her instead of a tiara. Winnie refused to take it off, unless she was sleeping or in the bath. She clutched the little pink and white flowers, pushing it back on her head. She giggled while holding onto Phil's shirt. Dan turned back to the camera, smiling slightly. "Is it okay if Winnie joins us for a bit?" He asked, chuckling at the replies his chat was soon flooded with.

amazingphangirlonfire:Yes!!
CatWhiskersAndPlaid: Of course it is!
RoseIn221B: Please!!

"Alright. C'mere, Winnie!" Phil set the little girl on the floor and watched as she toddled over to Dan, still a bit wobbly on her legs. Dan aimed the camera down a bit, so the fans could see her better. They didn't mind her being on camera or in their liveshows, as long as it wasn't very often. They were proud of their daughter and wanted to share her with the fans. Dan lifted her up and pulled her into his lap, angling the camera back up. Phil leaned over, sticking his face in the shot and smiling. "Hi guys!" He said. "I'll be doing a liveshow soon, I've just been busy lately." Phil pushed his glasses up his face and waved before disappearing again.

"So... guys, anything new?" Dan said, shifting his daughter on his lap. He was met with flurry of responses, and he read some out.

"FallOutEmma says she went to Japan, nice." He said, remembering when he'd been with Phil. That was when Phil had proposed, under the cherry blossom trees, the sun just starting to set. He smiled fondly at the memory, then pulled himself out of his thoughts. Winnie mumbled on his knee, clutching his shirt and trying to pull herself up. He lifted her up, putting her on his shoulders. When she giggled happily and made no complaint, he glanced up at her, saying "Don't mess with daddy's hair, okay? You're in a position of optimum power and with great power comes- jesus christ I trusted you." He cringed as Winnie put her hands on his hair, combing it backwards and tugging slightly. The chat soon filled with remarks of "awww" or "haha she's just like you, Dan!" and he laughed.

"Okay guys, you might find it funny, but when this little bear is constantly tugging on your hair or ruffling it, it isn't so great." Winnie giggled and Dan put her back in his lap, continuing to chat with his fans.

About fifteen minutes later, Winnie started to get fussy and sniffled a bit, looking tired. She wasn't used to being up this late, although it was only eight. Dan has started doing his liveshows a bit earlier due to taking care of Winnie and just being more tired lately. It was a relief when Winnie slept all night. She didn't wake up frequently anymore, but it wasn't abnormal for her to wake up once in the night. She looked up at Dan, tiny fists knotted in his shirt. He looked at her, beginning to bounce her on his knee. He gave the camera an apologetic look, also saying he was sorry and to give him a minute. He cooed at her, holding her hands in his. Her tiny, still chubby hands gripped his forefinger, and she mumbled quietly, still looking distraught. He wiped the tears from her face.

"Shh, it's okay baby. It's okay. Hey, little Bear, smile for me, hm?" He tickled under her chin lightly. "It's all okay, love." She started to smile a bit, her blue eyes brightening. Dan smiled now, almost forgetting he had a liveshow to return to. Winnie curled up in his lap, tucking her arms under her head and snuggling into Dan's body. He gazed down at her lovingly, glancing up at his camera and remembering he still had a liveshow to finish. He started talking again, quietly. "Hey, sorry about her. She's a little fussy when she's overtired, as you can probably tell." Luckily, Winnie was a heavy sleeper, and by the time she was eight months old, it took a fair amount of noise to wake her. They'd had her since she was two months old. Dan and Phil had been looking to adopt and wanted a little girl, and visited the hospital nearby. There were sometimes babies who were given up or unwanted, and left at the hospital until they could be transferred to an orphanage or adoption center. When they'd found Winnie, they knew she was it. She was asleep, her hands hardy bigger than Dan's thumb, as they were curled up. Her face was peaceful and relaxed. They'd watched her for a while, and then she opened her eyes. Blue and green, with bits of gold or yellow, just like Phil's. She was beautiful, and too precious for words. When they returned home, the two immediately thought of what they might name her if they were lucky enough to adopt her. Nearly seven weeks later, all the papers were signed and her room had been finished at their flat. The guest room was now hers, and Dan moved his things into Phil's bedroom. Of course, most of his possessions were already in there, but they'd transformed Dan's old bedroom into the new guest room. That afternoon in May, Winnie Emily Lester was taken home and added to the Lester family.

Dan finished his liveshow, closing his laptop and shutting his camera off. He picked Winnie up gently, carrying her into her bedroom. He placed her gently in her crib hoping she wouldn't wake up. She only sighed softly in response. He tucked her in, kissing her forehead and leaving her door slightly ajar. As he walked into his and Phil's bedroom and kissed Phil before going to bed, he couldn't help bit think one thing:

His small family, consisting of his beautiful husband and radiant daughter, was absolutely perfect.
