Chapter
8
Lord saves me. I’ve never been ice skating before and I sure as hell wasn’t going to tried it now. There was no way I was going to make a fool of myself in front Didier and his sister or her boyfriend.
We finally reach the place and it was not what I expected. My emotions must have been clear on my face.
“Not you expected, I presume.” Didier, of course, said standing behind me and I felt is hand going through my ponytail.
“God, I have got to reward for your perceptiveness.” Not technically the word I preferred to use but they would just have to do for now.
Earlier in the car, I’d merely said hi to Rainier, I couldn’t see his face because it was too dark in the car. Now that we were out of the car, I could tell that he was…I didn’t know a word that was better than beautiful or handsome. Perhaps there wasn’t. Of course it wasn’t the same reaction I had compare to when I first met Didier. When I had first met Didier, the very first time I saw him, I was at a loss of word to describe completely the way he looked. I couldn’t even think of a word better than the better word that could replace beautiful. Didier would forever be the most beautiful guy I have ever encountered in my life, though I would die first before I admit it.
Nevertheless, I could at least describe the way Rainier looked.
Unlike Didier, he had long gold hair that was tied in a ponytail behind his head. As you guess, he was a Baroque as well. He wore nothing but black. And like Didier, he wore no jacket while I was freezing to death even though I was wearing a jacket. His feature was angel like—close to godliness. I also noticed Callia; she wore blue jeans with a white shirt and black tennis shoes that were barely noticeable. Again, no jacket. Was I the only one freezing here?
“Wait here, we’re going to buy tickets.” Rainier told us. That said they disappear in the crowds they went straight to the ticket booth without waiting in line.
“What a jerk.” Callia murmured. I don’t know how I knew that but I knew that she was talking about Didier.
“Tell me about it.” I paused. “Wait; give me a moment to take my foot out of my mouth.”
“Oh no it’s ok. In that case, he is a jerk.”
I couldn’t helped but ask. “Really? How so?”
“He wouldn’t let me talk to you.”
“Pardon?”
She sighed in embarrassment. “Well you see…don’t let him know that I told you ok.” After she received my acquiesced, she continued on, “when you first came to this school, I have so much wanted to speak with you, but he wouldn’t let me. He was like ‘she needs to be close to me first before you can talk to her.’ Then he messed everything up for a whole year. You have no idea how glad I am to see you here with us today.” She added the last part in a whispery breath like someone who was sharing her deepest secret with her best friend.
Ok. That was it. The world was going crazy. First Didier, then Jessica, then my dad, and now Callia.
“Why had you wanted to talk to me? I mean, in the point of view of the school, I’m a nerd who is barely noticeable at school. So why would someone as cool as you are—” I was babbling, I knew that but the stare that she leveled me was so intense that I dare not continued my sentence.
“Where do you get off thinking like that? How could you think you’re a nerd? You’re the most beautiful girl I ever laid eyes on.”
“Now I know you’re teasing me.”
