Chapter 25

CLARA ANN's POV

I picked up my phone slowly but cautiously, and ran out of the mall.

I ignored the calls from the girls. I ran to the nearest taxi and climbed in.

"St. Jones Hospital. And step on it, will you?" I asked urgently. Whenever I was super nervous, my British accent got thicker.

"Alright." He drove a little over the speed limit.

I pulled out my phone and dialed in Liam's number.

"Clara Ann! Where in the bloody world are you?!" ZAYN's voice screamed.

"UGHH Zayn! You blew out my blasted eardrums!" I groaned.

"Seriously, Clara where are you?" Louis asked.

"I'm in the taxi about to go to the hospital." I explained.

"Alright, I'll bring Penny," he said before hanging up.

"Wait,Liam! Don't bring her!" I yelled into the speaker. It was no use trying to because he already hung up. Once we got there, I paid the man and ran into the hospital.

"May Audrey Jenson! What room is she?" I demanded.

"Room 617, Floor 3" the receptionist said kindly.

I ran to the elevator, and hopped in. I pressed the number '3' as the button illuminated. I tapped my god impatiently.

Finally, it opened up, and I sped out of the space.

I ran until I found the door with the numbers 617 imprinted on it. I pushed it open, and saw my mum laying lifelessly on the bed.

The heart rate machine was going at a steady pace. I rubbed my knuckles over her cheek softly, and admired her.

He eyes were squeezed shut and her mouth was slightly agape.

"Clara." Penny's voice cracked.

"Oh, Penny." I smiled crookedly.

"Mummy." She sobbed, walking over to mum's body.

Then, doctors came flooding in.

"Ms. Jenson. We have received info and your mother will live." Dr.Brown informed us.

"She will be put on life support just for one day to be sure."

Happiness flooded my system, as I smiled.

"What was the cause of her d-death?" I asked the question that has been dying to come out.

"She was driving home and hit by a drunk driver." He said.

"Oh, okay. Thank you."

"Can we have you come out and fill out some papers for your mother's release?" A nurse asked me.

I nodded, and walked out of the room with Penny at my hip.

After signing the last paper, I heard a cackling noise from my mom's room. I walked back to her room, and saw her.

My mom's enemy.

FLASHBACK.

"Mummy, who's that?" I asked, pointing to a picture frame with my mother and a girl smiling.

"Ah, that's Beatrice. She was my best friend in primary school." Mum smiled.

"Was? What happened mummy?" I asked, tilting my head.

"Well, she stopped being my best gal when I started to date your daddy. She liked him too." Mummy looked on the verge of crying.

END IF FLASHBACK.

Beatrice Sonemaya.

She was laughing hysterically and she had a wire in her hands. The life support wire!

"HAHA YES. NOW I CAN HAVE COLTON ALL TO MYSELF! NO MORE MAY NOW!!MAYIS GONE!!" She laughed like a hyena.

"MOM!" I yelled running over to her. I pushed down Beatrice and ran over to my mum. I let out a bloodcurdling scream.

Then, a pair of strong arms pulled me back. I turned and saw Liam's head.

"Mummy!" Penny yelled. Danielle pulled her back, and Penny shielded her eyes.

The doctors and security came out and pulled away Beatrice.

"Clara Ann." Harry's voice came.

I hugged his torso, not even caring about how awkward I seemed.

I tried to run back to her, but Harry pulled me back. I was letting out a mix of cries and yells. Not quiet sobs, but loud and uncontrolled ones.

Once she was out, I lost it. I fell to my knees and had my head in my hands.

"Clara,darling?" A voice came out raspy.

I know that voice anywhere. MOM!

"Mom?" I stuttered.

"Yes, love, it's me." She smiled.

I pushed myself up and practically jumped on her.

"Mummy!" Penny squealed. She joined in on our hug

"M-Mum, I thought I l-lost you." I started. The tears were on the edge, and I was about to cry.

"Darling, I was already okay, Beatrice pulled the plug when I was already awake." She smiled.

"I love you, mummy." I cried into her hair.

"I love you too, Clare Bear." She chuckled.

Finally something went right in my life.
