I made my way down the street thinking about everything that just happened within the last 20 minutes. I stopped suddenly when I realized I had no freaking clue where I was going to go. Hotel. I just need to find a hotel I thought to myself.

Luckily I had 400 bucks stashed away in my wallet from my job back home. I deliver pizzas which can be really awkward when the popular kids are having a party and you have to deliver pizza to there house.

"Hey aren't you that dorky girl Valerie?" A guy that goes to my school asked me once.

"Uh, no," I replied, my face going red.

"Well your name tag says-"

"Well bye. I hope you enjoy your pizza," I yelled running off the porch.

So yea there are many more awkward encounters than that.

I walked for another twenty minutes when I came across a crappy looking motel.

"Well, it's better than nothing," I said to myself.

As I walked in the front doors I realized I would have probably been better off sleeping on a park bench. I approached the front desk with a man sitting behind it smoking a cigar. His name tag said 'Reggie'.

"What can I do for you?" The late 30-ish early 40s looking man asked.

"Umm, I need a room. Preferably the cheapest one that's available." I know I probably sounded like a little girl on her first day of second grade, but I didn't care at the moment.

He put a key on the desk and slid it over to me,"Room 132."

"Uh, how much-," I started.

"Don't worry about it," he cut in.

I opened my mouth to say something but he didn't let me. "The cheapest room is only 20 bucks. That's not that much. Just go ahead."

"Thanks," I replied. He grunted in response and turned back to his magazine about cars.

As I unlocked the door and entered my room I realized why it was only 20 bucks. There was a small bed on the opposite side of the room and a bathroom across from that. There wasn't a TV which really sucked but I mean come on an hour ago I was literally arm reach away from my 17 year old dad. I was in the 80s. Although TV was awesome back then I'm sure there are way better things to do.

I plopped down on the bed and sighed. "Wow," I whispered to myself, and let out a small chuckle.
