Chapter 13

Lana’s POV

It wasn’t easy but the doctor had- after hours of trying- stopped the bleeding on my abdominal, stitched it up and wrapped me tightly in a bandage.

Max had left an hour ago to run an errand for Cassandra, and if I wasn’t in so much pain I would have gone to find Eve and then make a run for it. But who am I kidding? There are countless guards around the entire castle and a dozen at the borders of the land. Even if I was able to find Eve in this big ass castle I still would not have a chance against all those men- I might be Alpha but I’m sure as hell not that strong.

I lay back down on the bed while my eyes never left the doctor who was now cleaning up desk in the corner of the room. He looked very familiar but I couldn’t put my tongue on it.

Then it hit me like a wave.

“I know you,” I said quietly but loud enough for him to hear. He froze; put down the book he was holding and turned my way with raised eyebrows. “You were there that night.”

By the looks of it he knew exactly what I was talking about. Doctor Finn was there the night that I had Nick.

June 7th 2002

I had watched so many movies where women went through their pregnancies with their loving husbands, had baby showers, gave birth quick and easy and afterwards was surrounded by family.

Me? Well my movie was lacking key scenes but wasn’t entirely different-

Okay, it was totally different.

Chad had already started sleeping with other female members of the pack when I was just two months into my pregnancy and me being Alpha Nick’s good little girl didn’t object so an unnecessary feud didn’t start between the two neighbouring pack- my father’s words not mine.

Being sixteen was supposed to be fun but here I was almost nine months pregnant, sitting on my parent’s bed in the master bedroom with Doctor Finn and a midwife getting everything ready for my birth.

Trust me when I say this wasn’t the time for my son’s birth since right at this moment there was a blood bath going on in the woods.

Rouges had attacked just hours ago- resulting in nearly all the pack members to leave to fight. Now Chad’s pack could always step in and help us but his father, Alpha Johnson said he would only assist in such attacks when our packs have joined once I have my baby and Chad is Alpha. The rule was that you can’t be an Alpha just because it’s your birth right- you must have a child first.

We had a strong pack with over a thousands of members but according to my mother we weren’t strong enough as we had already lost too many.

So now that’s why I was sitting here ready to give birth so Chad’s pack could assist mine.

But I being me didn’t want to give birth now and for the stupidest reason.

My mother, Maria, finally stopped her annoying pacing that was making my head spin and sat at the edge of the bed, taking my hand in the process, “Svetlana, honey, you must understand that your baby needs to be delivered now.”
