Chapter 4

I don’t think I have ever cried this much in my entire life. Well, maybe I have once on my birthday when Eric had found his mate.

My sixteenth birthday seems so far back now, the night that I had taken comfort in Chads arms.

Chad held me while I cried until I fell asleep. I didn’t even like him at the time but let him be the one to comfort me since everyone else was too drunk at the party to even notice my absence.

I slowly got up from where I was sitting on my bedroom floor and walked over to my wardrobe.

I want to go out tonight, go clubbing, dance, get drunk and maybe even find someone to have a good time with.

Only the damn knock on the door stopped me from getting dressed.

I got up, quickly walked over to the front door and opened it without checking who it was.

It was my second, James, along with two other guys behind him.

“Lana? Is this a bad time?” he asked, looking a little worried that I might say yes.

“No, its not,” I said, “What do you want?”

“You know Michael? Amelia’s’ son?”

“What about him?”

“Well there were a few problems with his mate and no matter what we tried- he won’t calm down.”

“Bring him in.” I turned around and walked into the dining room. I pulled out a chair and sat down.

James and a guy I didn’t know brought in Michael. He looked awful; there were dark circles under his eyes that were bloodshot like mine from crying and his hands were balled into fists. He looked like an okay guy, but badly needs a haircut and a shave.

“Sit down, Michael.” I pushed out the chair across me with my feet and offered it to him.

“I’m fine,” he said, and the remembering who he was speaking to, “ma’am.”

“Suit yourself. So what’s the problem with your mate? Her names Nikki, right?” I knew Nikki from high school; she used to be one of my good friends until she slept with my mate that is.

Michael didn’t answer but he started shaking with anger even more than I thought he would.

“Michael,” I said calmly,” tell me your problem so I can help fix it.”

He finally met my gaze and in the most heartbroken voice said,” She slept with the Alpha, again after she promised she wouldn’t.”

Tears started falling down his cheeks as he looked into my eyes, pleading for me to say something. The thing is that I don’t know what to say. Here he is telling me what my ass-of-a-mate has done yet again, it’s like I hold all the answers to everyone’s problems. Well guess what? I don’t.

I turned my head to James, “Find Nikki and tell her she is officially out of the pack.” he nodded and walked out the room.

Michael looked at me with wide eyes,” You can’t do-“

I rose to my feet and stood right in front of him, “You see I actually can do that. If you want to go with her then be my guest but you and I both know that no other pack out there will except both of you so think wisely before you choose.”

“There’s no thinking to be done, she’s my mate and I haven’t totally given up on her like you have on your mate-“

I slapped him across the face- not wanting to hear anymore.
