"We love you, Melody," I will never forget seeing my best friend shift into her alternate wolf form, forever taking on that shape.
I miss her beautiful music, seeing her laugh and smile. I miss talking with Melody.
She still listens, though. We figured out that she won't hurt me. Cameron swears that she remembers me. He says that her liquid gold eyes glint a certain way when I am present, and that she misses me, too. It hurts, knowing that she is so close, yet so far away.
She will die, in the next few years. She has lived long enough in this form, that Lucien and I introduced her to our first born son, Gabriel, who is nine, and our second born, Rowan, of age four. Gabriel looks like Lucien and I, but Rowan reminds me so much of Melody. If Melody was human, she would take Rowan shopping, and teach Gabriel to be nice to little girls. Melody would be the god mother of my children.
Instead, she has few more years to roam this mystical forest.
