Jeba's POV
It felt good. Falling down my tree with the weightlessness in my stomach. 'Thanks cane. If you had felt like eating I'd be throwing up now.' Wait was that a compliment or insult, whatever.
I quickly twisted around with my feet facing the ground. In I went. Letting the water take over my senses making everything about everyone even cane flow out of my mind down the river. Along with me.
I pulled myself up for air looking at the guys looking at cane.
"Where'd the girl go?" A guy said with a faint Australian accent. Odd I thought those accents were dead. He had a buzz cut with some uniform on and gangly teeth. Not American.
"There she is!" The other man spat. It was the officer. Oh no. I looked up at my tree looking for cane. 'Oh there is no time!' I looked at my depacher point finding cane in no time. I put my hands above the water motioning for him to jump. And when he did, it didn't work.
Cane POV
I caught Jebas gaze. ' oh my god she's not dead!' I felt like jumping up in joy. I kept staring at her tracing my eyes along her wet hair. 'Jump'. A voice whispered in my mind. Almost as if she heard it Jeba put her hands into the sky motioning for me to jump.
I stood diving into the air letting my mind drift. I copied what Jeba did and put my feet in front of me.
*Crack* went my bones. And black went everything else.
