Jebas POV

I paced the little hospital apartment quietly. The pad of my feet against the soft carpet was the only thing that comforted me these days. It had been three weeks since I'd seen canes eyes, and I missed them. Yes I've seen him off and on but his eyes... How will it feel when he wakes up? His arms and legs. Oh god he'll be in so much pain. I couldn't take it any more.

I sat down on the little bed staring at the security camra that I demanded played footage of Cane 24/7. It wasn't that hard to get what I wanted these days. Ever since Heru took a liking to me. Me and him became friends.

Heru had muscular arms and dark brown eyes that went from milk chocolate to solid black when his mood changed. He had a bristly chin and tossled brown hair with a little gray close to his right eyebrow. He was the cop that had scared us so much.

'He could be my new dad.' I thought shoving all thoughts about Cane into a drawer. Speaking of drawers. I walked to the corner of the little room opening a drawer from the dresser there. I pulled out a brush.'this will keep my mind off things.' I thought hopefully. I walked to the bed again and sat down facing the closet that had a mirror attached to the door. I combed my hair slowly savoring every moment it kept my mind off Cane.

"That didnt last long." I muttered looking at my pin straight hair that had recently been cut. Turns out I have this thing called "split ends"

The door suddenly busted open making me jump an inch of the bed. I scowled at the door.

"Chat! Knock!!" I said my voice dripping with venom.

"Sorry." Chat chuckled. Chat had blond hair that was always perfectly flipped to the side and he wore jeans and a white top. He was fairly attractive but Cane was my world. Chat was Heru's son and was nothing like his dad. For one his eyes were the perfect shade of grey all the time and he was jolly instead of protective.

"He's awake." He said walking over to me.

My feet acted before my mind. I was up and out the door without so much as a thanks.

"CANE!" I screamed. Running like hell itself was behind me.

My voice bounced off the doors and walls.

"JEBA!" I heard him reply frantically.

345, 346, 347. I counted the doors. 350. I crashed into the door fumbling for the lock. I opened it not attempting to be quiet.

I saw them. The thing I've been missing for what has felt like eternity. I saw his eyes. And they reminded me that Chat and whoever else has crushed on me here could ever replace Cane.

'My hair!' I groaned mentally 'It's all ratty again!'

"Oh Cane." I wanted to fall to my knees. I stepped towards him closing the space between us quickly.

"Where am I?" He said so horsily it was sick.

"With me." I said so soft that I knew only he could hear.

I tilted my head and leaned in closing my eyes. He lifted his head up. Our lips touched and a fire erupted in my heart I was urgent and gentle with him even though I needed this bad.

His lips began to get cold. I stood up not realizing I had held his head I dropped it slowly. I looked at his heart rate thing staring at the sleep medication tube. It was full of blue liquid.

"Cane?" I said sadly for I knew that in his condition he could only be awake for short periods of time. I bent over rejoining our lips.

"No don't go." A tear fell down my cheek and onto his.

"It's ok" A strong but comforting voice said behind me.

"Heru?" I gasped embarrassed with blood rushing into my cheeks.

He chuckled deeply. "Relax kid." He rubbed his hand through his hair "I get it you miss him." He said sympathetically getting up and taking me in his arms. I lied my head into his shoulder letting him hum an unfamiliar tune to me.

I cried. "When will he wake up?" I said between sobs.

"In about to hours." He replied softly. "He'll be up to eat."

"I'll be waiting." I said staring at his face tracing his lips again. I loved him. I knew that now. And I forever will.
