Hey so i know i wasn't going to do this until i got more votes and comments, but i thought i'd surprise y'all with a short chapter!
Chapter 14:
Justin's POV:
I sat on the couch running a hand through my hair. How could she do this to me? Right when I finally told her how I felt she just went away with that idiot. I couldn't believe this. Anger swelled up in me quickly replacing the heart break. Fine, if she wanted to be with him go ahead. But I'm not going to take this sitting down. I want revenge- I will have revenge. I was suddenly consumed in this new hatred, like something else had taken over me, and honestly, I liked it. I felt powerful, like I could take down anyone, and that's exactly what I was going to do.
James POV:
"The clock is running? How long does my clock have" I said leaning in closer to her.
"How long does it take for me to figure out how to spell 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious'?" she grinned looking up at me with a crooked grin.
"You're a bright girl-that doesn't give me much time"
"I was never a good speller."
"You'll figure it out" I said leaning closer to her.
"I have a minor case of dyslexia"
"Yet you've managed to finish high school with almost perfect grades."
"I ran out of excuses"
"So how much time do I get again?" I said as my lips were now brushing against hers.
"All the time in the world." She whispered before I crashed my lips onto hers.
Immediately my heart soared as my stomach flipped. Breaking away I looked down at her breath taking smile and laughed. This girl will be mine.
Lying down on the soft grass rubbing slow circles on Nick's hand which was intertwined with mine I closed my eyes, feeling the slight breeze caress my face.
"What happened?" I heard Nick as quietly.
"What happened to what?"
"Your brother."
My heart stopped at the thought as I remembered his face. He looked almost exactly like me, but with brown hair instead of black, plus he was more in tune with the world. Always smiling- everyone loved him; I use to be jealous of him actually. But, as we started growing up, I just loved him by my side, always showing me what to do, and bringing light to every situation. He was my best friend...
Nick stirred by my side reminding me of her question and I swallowed the lump in my throat.
"I was seventeen and Tyler was home from college for the summer. There was this huge party- everyone was going, so of course I just had to go..." I once again swallowed loudly remembering the thought. "... it was so stupid actually. Everyone was drunk, it smelled, and overall just sucked- an average high school party. He wanted me to stay home with him so we could hang out since we hadn't seen each other in a year and our parents were out. I told him we had all summer and this was the biggest party ever; I just had to go. Reluctantly he agreed and said he would find someone else to hang out with. On my way over I had this gnawing feeling that I should go back, it just kept bugging me, like something was wrong, but I figured it was just guilt or something dumb. I came home half drunk at around 2 in the morning to find him dead on the floor with a bullet through his heart." I once again stopped as my voice had gone cold and emotionless. "A guy came in to rob us thinking no one was home, when he saw Tyler he flipped and just shot him." I felt Nicks hand on my cheek turning me to face her. She looked into my eyes- not with pity- but with pain. Like she had felt my pain, not that she just wanted to comfort me, or feel sympathy for me. She leaned in and kissed me softly on my lips, not bothering to say anything; her kiss said it all which I was more than thankful for.
