Making it out alive

chapter 12

Chapter 12

Glancing to make sure no cameras had a view of me, I reached for the gun in the back of my pants. As I felt the rough grip I looked up to see Nick and hesitated, debating whether I should pull it out and kill this idiot or not. Remembering the hurt in her eyes from the last time I had a gun to her, my shoulders sagged and I let my grip go on the gun, running my hand through my hair. I looked up at Nick and the boy's body stance protectively blocking her from me and lost it. I lashed out my hand strangling him whilst throwing him against a wall.

"I'm not going to hurt you because she would be upset if I did" I said nodding my head towards Nick. "But have no doubt, the minute she doesn't care about you, I will shoot you threw the head and throw your dead body in a river" I said glaring at his now blue face. I let him go and he dropped to the floor, coughing, trying to catch his breath. Nick jumped next to me looking down at Justin. Tilting her head, she pointed and started laughing, obviously not understanding the harshness of the situation but finding her friends pain funny. I ruffled her hair and grabbed her hand leading her out of the room.

"Where are we going?" she said giggling and playing with her hair.

"We need to talk." I said putting her on the passenger side of my Charger and driving off.

As I parked, I turned to see her sleeping, face pressed up against the glass. Smiling I got out going to her side and lifted her up princess style, shutting the door with my foot. I looked up the bright green grass of the empty park and started walking towards a tree. She snuggled her head closer to me as I sat down still holding her. Wrapping my arms tightly around her I leaned my head against the tree and fell asleep.

"HOLY SHIT!" I heard someone shout. I opened my eyes quickly to see Nick rolling off of me as fast as possible looking around confused. "Where the hell am I and how did I get here?!" she said putting herself in a defensive position. I got up slowly putting my hands up trying to calm her down. She threw her forearm against my neck throwing me back into the tree. I silently chuckled remembering doing almost the exact same thing to her friend. "ANSWER ME!" she shouted face pressed in anger, trying to hide her fear.

"I uh... took you" I said not able to think of anything else. She moved her arm off my neck and started to walk away. Before I could say anything she turned around and punched me in the face. I stumbled but stood back up; the drugs were still in her system; I could tell because not only was I not out cold from the punch, but she stumbled with it. I instinctively grabbed her to keep her from falling, only making her angrier. She punched me again knocking me to the floor this time. As she walked up to me I twisted my legs around hers making her fall next to me, barley catching herself in time. She tried getting up only to fall once again looking dizzy. I chuckled at how much the drugs affected and wondered what she would be like drunk. Rolling on top of her I straddled her keeping her legs down and holding her hands above her head.

"You need to listen to me."

"Like. Hell." She said spitting in my face. I wiped it away with my shoulder.

"I don't think you're in any position to argue" I said as she tried to struggle to get up. She glared at me then head butted me in the nose. I heard her whimper in pain and was about to cradle my own nose before I remembered I had to hold her down. I looked down to see her nose bleeding again, it didn't look re-broken though so I wasn't too worried, and I knew she could deal with it. Her body tensed and her hands dug into the ground as she sucked up the pain.
