"Leave your mistake in the doorway, give is a sign that you've seen what you've done and look for the sun and lift up your head. Don't stay low."
"Arrgg!!!.... Who is waking me up at this ungodly hour in the morning!" I yell. There is this consistent annoying violin sound. It's like the person was try to murder the violin by attacking its strings. It's just awful. If this doesn't stop soon my ears will start bleeding.
"Jordan....you told me to wake you up at 8:00... I even gave you an extra hour...."
I manage to open my eyes to see Rayé, my housekeeper... Seeing the look on her face I could tell that something was not right at all.
" Yea... I did....thanks....What's with that sad look on your face." Right now I've gotten over that murderous sound, Rayé turned it off.
"Yea...about that...Shannon...left a while ago thinking you .... Will mind waking up to see her off." She mumbles.
" But I told her to tell me when she is ready to leave..."
" Well...looking at the way you slept so much and the fight you almost started when I woke you up.... I think she played safe.." She says raising her eyebrows.
"Really Rayé... you are taking her side now?"
" Hmmm...well she could have said goodbye in person....just thank God that she left a note this time round."
Slowly, I took the note from her and read it...
Jordan, sorry to leave without telling you, but I thought it best to. I need to get better, I've been thinking a lot lately and think it would be best for us to have like a time out... I hope you will understand me after reading this note.
Love, Shannon.
"Rayé please what time did she leave?""About an hour ago."
The only question that was surfing throughout my mind was 'Why did she leave like that...' I thought that the talk yesterday, actually made something better...
As if Rayé could read my mind, she looked at me and said, "You know Jordan... Sometimes, people need space to be okay, to heal. I'm not taking Shannon's side but, both of you are young and have almost fulfilled lives, that doesn't mean that every decision you had ever taken or will take makes sense. If she needs to clear her mind, then do the same. Maybe by doing that you will find an answer and a possible solution to what you are going through."
After giving Rayé's advice a thought for a while, I realized that she was right. So I looked for my phone and called my little sister Moira. I knew she would be in class but she had called me during class hours more than once... she will pick up. "Hey! Mo... How's my favorite little sister doing?"
"I'm your only sister... I'm fine and you?"
" Better than you."
"So why did you call. I'm in the middle of something."
"Really... Is your teacher in class?"
"Naa... I'm in the middle of beating Halle high score in candy crusher."
"Really! And that's more important than me?"
"Sort of... You kind of ditched me for someone so...I found a new big brother."
"Wait so candy crusher is your new big brother?"
"Don't push me... You owe me big time."
"Okay... How about I make it up to you now?"
"Sounds good to me. So what are you doing for me?"
"Do you want to come to my house and spend like two weeks... Literarily, the house is yours for those two weeks."
"Jordan, are you sick or... Is something wrong?" She asked in a concerned tone.
"Nothing is wrong, I'm going for my high school homecoming and as an apology for ditching you, you can live in my house while I'm gone."
"Thank God, I thought you were sick or something."
"So you coming or..."
"Heck yeah... Wait is she going to be there."
"Who?"
"You know...Thou whose name I do not mention because she creeps the crazy out of me."
"Do you mean Shannon?"
"Yea."
"She's gone to visit her family."
"Thank God. Okay I'll be there. Clear with mum and dad for me."
"Okay, I will. So see you at..."
"At 4pm. I've to go teacher approaching."
"Okay... love you."
"Me too...bye."
