I'm just going to say it...

Letting go means to come to the realization that some people are a part of your history, but not a part of your destiny.

DAPHNE.

I wake up later than I usually would and I’m glad because I needed the sleep. I take my phone and I see a message my mom sent me, I told her about Lance when Jordan went to select the karaoke songs yesterday. It’s a text from Isaiah 55:8 and Jeremiah 29:11. After reading it I realize that all that happened yesterday might have happened because God is making a better plan for me. This message sparked a new flame of hope in me. I get up, with my mind set on forgetting about Lance and focusing on the future, and go take a shower and get ready for the day. When I finish dressing up, Jordan calls me and tells me to meet him in the lobby. I go down soon afterwards.
We have breakfast and Jordan being still worried about yesterday’s event had drawn up a plan for today.

“So Daph, this is the plan, we are ditching today’s school activity and going straight to the shops to find you a dress for home coming, then...”

“Wait, Jordan, why do we need the whole day for dress shopping?” I ask taking a sip of my coffee.

“You need to get a killer dress and send it to that idiot Lance and show him, you are doing fantastic without him.”

“But Jordan, that doesn’t really matter now, I’ve decided to forget about him and move on with my life.” I know it's not easy trying to forget him but with my newly found flame of hope...I guess I can.

“Really, that’s great but still you need to show him that you will and are surviving without him.”

“But...”

“No buts, Daph. We are going shopping. Finish up and let’s get going.”

“Okay, let me finish this pancake, it’s really good."

We walk hand in hand as we look for shops to go to. It never occurred to me that there would be so many shops here after just 10 years. Before, if I needed a dress I'll just go to the mall but... Times have changed so many shops here now. We can go to any but I'm letting Jordan do the job, he seems to have a whole book filled with plans for today.

“Ooo, Jordan, this morning I learnt from my Bible that God has bigger and better plans for me so I need not worry about the little setbacks in life.” I say smiling at him. I know Jordan is not so religious but I'm not going to force him or he may even lose interest... I guess he will change when the time is right...

“Amen to that and I’m glad God sent you that message.”

“So have you been going to church lately?” I say smiling more. Waiting sort of nervously for an answer.

“I do, once in a while, truthfully speaking.”

“Does Shannon drag you there or...?”

“Naa... Rayé, my house keeper does...”

“Ooo, you have a house keeper, who drags your bump to church; I’ve got to congratulate her on that.”

“I think you and her will really bond.” He said smiling.

“Really, we would?”

“Yes. She's sort of like a mom to me.”

“Cool. So where is the shop you want us to go to. We've passed by about four already and I feel like I’ve been walking for ages.”
