What the heck?

"Get ready." I heard a voice in the middle of the night and immediately sat up in my bed. It was dark in my room and it took me  a few seconds to realise what is happening. There was a boy casually sitting on my desk accompanied with two wolves. Wait, maybe I'm still sleeping. I've pinched myself. No, it's not a dream and gosh, I shouldn't have pinched myself so hard.
"Excuse me!" I raised my voice, standing up "I wouldn't mind to know who are you and what are you doing in my room?"
"Oh, my" he said in such an irritating voice that I barely resisted the urge to slap him. "You didn't get the letter?"
"Letter? What are you even talking about? Go away or I'll call the police!" I said, trying to calm down a bit.
"You'll probably need a phone to do so" his lips formed a firm line as he showed me my phone in his pocket. I shot him a death glare and he smirked, clearly enjoying the situation. Moron.
"I can go wake up my family and they'll call the police." I said in a calm voice. I won't let him enjoy this situation too much.
"I don't think that's a smart idea." he said, glancing at the two wolves that were standing behind him. I sighed. He had the point.
"Okay, what do you want then?" I was slowly giving in.
"So, you've recently celebrated your fourteenth birthday and with that day, you've become a part of The Dreamers." he emphasised the last word and pointed his finger at me. Well, he clearly hoped for at least an exclaim from me, something like wow or oh my gosh, but I wasn't impressed.
"You need to come with me." he added after an awkward silence.
"If this is your creative way of asking me on a date, I mean, you could have just said that from the beginning?" I teased.
He chuckled in response. "I'm sure you would like that, sweetie, but no, that isn't the reason I'm here." his response didn't sound really convincing, I caught him off guard. One point for Evie, zero for the mysterious boy.
"Whatever you say. But, it just sounded like that." I winked, putting my hands up in defence.
He rolled his eyes, trying to keep his dignity from being covered in dust. Gosh, boys are so complicated.
"What I was trying to say is, can you remember the morning when you couldn't reminisce about your dream?" he asked and I thought about it for a second. Actually, not a single morning.
"See. You're one of us, you're one of" he started.
"The Dreamers." I made a firework motion with my hands, joking about the drama he made around that name. Let's play this make-believe, even though I couldn't understand what was he trying to achieve with that. He didn't actually think that I would buy it, right?
"Exactly." he didn't get the joke "So, if you can please cooperate a bit and get ready now?"
"What if I refuse to come with you?" I asked bluntly.
"Well, then I'll have to carry you and probably listen to your screaming and protesting for quite a long time, but I'm really not in the mood for that." he shrugged in an ironically calm way and I just stared at him. His tone made my blood boil.

"I'm sorry for interrupting your deep thoughts" he taunted, clearly not sorry "But we don't have the whole night so please get ready."
"Fine." I gave in, trying to hide my frustration, but judging by the smirk on his face, he was aware of it.
I still didn't quite understand everything and secretly hoped it will end up being a dream, but I took a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt out of my closet.
"Get out of my room." I demanded, holding my clothes in my hand.
"Smart one, but I can't allow you to run away." he smirked. Oh, don't even try tricking me with that one, boy.
"However you want, I'll go to the bathroom then." I shrugged. I quickly changed from my pyjama which thanks God wasn't an embarrassing one. What is this, like, the first time I got lucky. I splashed my face with cold water to clear my mind. I'm playing quite a stupid game with some boy who somehow appeared in my room together with the two wolves. Wow, what a night.

"Just curious, you know that the ends of you hair are purple?" he continued teasing me as I returned to my room.
"Really? You must be kidding me!" I drawled sarcastically, running my fingers through my hair in a sort of an act of defence. What can I say, I'm in my punk phase. Deal with that.
"Gosh, your british accent is killing me." he mumbled under his breath and smiled.
"My pleasure." I said with a smirk.
"Wait, where are we going?" I asked.
"I won't tell you because you may not want to go then." he said.
"That statement totally made my worries disappear. Thanks." I retorted sarcastically.
"My pleasure." he imitated my phrase and winked. I slapped his arm playfully and took out my suitcase.
"How long will I stay there? What do I need to bring?" I asked.
"Well, it's actually a boarding school so you should bring a lot of stuff."
Oh, a boarding school, really, I thought to myself, but just nodded.

Not even worrying about what I'm taking, I grabbed random clothes and other essentials and just crammed them into the suitcase. I should definitely win an award for fast packing. Once someone makes it up for me.

"Let's go." I said skeptically.
He nodded instead of an answer and took my suitcase. I watched him as he splashed some sparkles and it DISAPPEARED! What the heck?, I thought to myself. What if he's not joking? Oh my gosh. No. I can't believe in that. Someone wake me up!
"I'm afraid to ask but, is my suitcase at least on planet Earth?" I asked, still not believing what has just happened.
"Don't worry." he chuckled, amused by my reaction "It is delivered to the place we're going to."
My mouth formed an "o" in shock. Can this night become even stranger?

What a stupid question, of course!

I was left speechless when I saw that his wolf jumped out of the window and waited for him to sit on his back. Yes, they were basically flying. And yes, I'm mentally okay (hopefully).
"You should close your mouth." he smirked. That was the moment I realised I was standing with my eyes and mouth wide open. Awkward.
"Are you coming?" he asked pointing to my wolf that was already in the air next to the window.
I gulped but nodded. My loud pulse suppressed the cautious thoughts and I could feel adrenaline running through my veins. Wiping my sweaty hands on my jeans I got on the flying wolf's back. I think that's definitely the strangest thing that I've done in my life.
"What's his name?" I asked pointing to my wolf.
"It's a girl, Aurora." he said and Aurora proudly tilted her head up. I patted her, she was kinda cute.
"And what about you? What's your name?" I was curious.
"I'm Dustin. And this is Grunge." he said pointing to his wolf. I nodded, trying to remember the information.
"You're Evie Angers, I know." he interrupted me before I introduced myself "I need to know the name of the person I'm picking up."
He patted his wolf and leaned forward to get in a safer position. I repeated after him, hoping I won't fall off.

We flew in silence for some time before I asked "Can you finally tell me where are we going?
"Toronto, Canada." he answered simply and my jaw dropped in shock.
