Dream travelling is the coolest thing ever

"Hello class." our Dream travelling teacher, mr. Pillob, greeted us as we all took our places in the Computer room. "Today we will talk about Dream travelling, obviously. This subject is the most important this year and you will learn a lot about it every day. Basically, all your dreams take place somewhere, and by correctly using scenes from your dreams, you can visit those places again to explore them."
On his sign, we turned on our computers and put our full moon pendants into the appropriate slot. A few seconds later a map called "my dreams" showed up on the screen. Not the first time I see those moons and stars. I just hoped that the teacher wouldn't notice those moons because nobody else had them on the screen.
"Choose the longest dream you had since your fourteenth birthday and click on it." he said. I clicked on the dream that was almost two hours long and was placed somewhere in Paris.
"So, first, I need to explain to you how does Dream travelling work. Split the length of your dream in half - that's the point in your dream in which you can visit the place you were dreaming about. If your dream is, for example, thirty minutes long, you have to click the button in the right down corner between 14th and 16th minute. That's very important, please don't forget that. Then, a portal to that place will show up and you just jump in it. Logically enough, you'll have half of the time of your dream to explore that place. After the time goes out, wherever you are, a portal will appear right next to you to bring you over here. As soon as the portal shows up, jump in it. Don't wait because it will only be there for one minute. Good luck!" he finished his explanation.
"What if the portal closes before we return back?" someone in the class asked.
"I hope you'll never be in a situation to find that out." he retorted so calmly, that I almost thought that he was going to say just kidding, it's no big deal, but his face expression was showing that he's deadly serious. I shivered. I don't want to be trapped in a dream forever, even if it's in Paris.
My dream was already "playing" on the screen when I turned to my computer. I was wandering through streets and enjoying it.
"Don't forget what I said, don't click if you're not sure that you'll stop the dream in the right place."
Three seconds, two, one..I clicked on the button. Suddenly, a portal in a shape of a swirl showed up right next to me. It was in all colours of rainbow and looked simply mesmerising.
"Jump!" mr. Pillob encouraged me. And I did. For a few seconds I was floating through something that reminded me of those Rainbow slides in water-parks. Seconds later, I fell on the ground, somewhere in Paris. Auch. That hurt. I stood up, brushing my hands on my jeans. Rainbow portals aren't my favourite way of travelling to be honest. First thing I did was checking my pockets. I had some money, small map of Paris and a pack of gum. Putting piece of gum in my mouth, I looked around me, searching for familiar sights. I concluded that this wasn't a famous quarter in Paris so I just started walking in a random direction. After some time, I saw the Eiffel Tower. That sight left me speechless. It felt like a dream. Well, actually it really was a dream.

While wandering around, I accidentally found a little bakery and bought some pastries. Next hour or so I spent sitting on the grass, admiring the Eiffel Tower. I growled loudly when the rainbow portal showed up right next to me, but nobody seemed to notice the strange colourful swirl. Time to go. I jumped into the portal, mentally preparing myself for the ride back.

The force pushed me forward again, but this time I landed on my feet. Even though I was full of positive emotions, the mood in the room was noticeably worse.

"What happened?" I asked, hoping the answer will be nothing too bad.
"Keiko hasn't returned." mrs. Pillob frowned.
"Are you kidding me?" I started panicking. He shook his head, his face expression was showing worry and fear.
"And how can we help her?" Amber asked.
"Well, it's quite complicated actually. Are there any volunteers?" he looked around the room. Amber and I raised our hands.
"Okay. So, listen very carefully. Her dream takes place in New york and she's currently trapped there. I have a special room with a portal that can take you there."
"It doesn't sound that hard." Amber commented.
"Everybody's dreams are protected in their brain and basically you're going to invade into hers. You have to take special pills that will let you visit her dream. They lower the pain you'll feel while transferring to her dream and being in it. When you'll come there, you'll have thirty minutes to find her. After the pill stops working, pains will become unbearable so you have to find her till the time goes out." he explained. This is going to be awful.
"Do you agree to this?" he raised an eyebrow. Amber and I both nodded.
"Okay, so in the end, with the help of this stick you'll make a portal which you'll all use to come back." he said "You just need to make swirls in the air with it and it will easily show up."
I gulped.
"Any questions?" he asked and Amber and I shook our heads in unison. "Then follow me."
He led us out of the classroom and upstairs till the last floor. There was only one door. He slowly unlocked all five locks on it.
"Good luck!" he gave us the pink pills which I quickly swallowed. Oh, gosh, I was such an optimist to think that they'll have strawberry flavour. I brushed my sweaty hands on my jeans and took Amber's hand. I exhaled loudly before we both stepped into the room.
