"Ugh." I frowned and put my hand over my eyes to save them from the sunlight. Realising it doesn't help I sat up and glanced at the clock on my nightstand. Instead of the clock, I noticed a wolf sitting there. I almost screamed but then remembered where I am. Wolves are the pets here.
"Aurora." I patted her awkwardly. I still wasn't sure if I like the idea of wolf instead of a dog as a pet. I mean, she did remind me of a husky. She jumped at me and licked my face. I guess she's not so bad.
"I'm happy to see you too." I laughed "What have you done to my alarm clock?"
Aurora looked at me and squealed. I snorted and picked up the clock from the floor. It was ten o'clock in the morning. Not the best, but acceptable time to wake up if you ask me. After looking over the whole room I realised Keiko's bed was empty while Amber was wrapped in her blanket with her face in the pillow. Her wolf, Bubble, was trying to play with her but she was clearly not in the mood. Yeah, waking up wasn't her favourite part of the day for sure. She sat up and exhaled loudly, trying to untangle a knot in her hair with her fingers. Bubble made strange noises to get her attention so she finally patted him.
"Where's Keiko?" I asked her.
"She went in the kitchen to bring us breakfast." Amber yawned. My mouth formed an "o". A few seconds later Keiko walked in with a big tray full of different food. Her wolf Popcorn was jumping around her, full of energy.
"Hello." she greeted us with a big smile. Ow, too much enthusiasm for the morning. She put the tray on the desk and Amber and I reluctantly joined her on the couch.
"So, someone always has to bring breakfast to our rooms?" I asked.
"Yeah, we'll take turns. It's just another feature of this school." Keiko explained.
"Cool." Amber commented and I nodded. After we've finished breakfast, it was time to dress up.
"They gave me our class schedule." Keiko said pointing to the piece of paper on the desk "We have maths first, if I remember right."
I growled when she mentioned maths. What a nice start of the day. And note the freaking sarcasm. It didn't took us long to get ready. Amber put a V-neck green sweater and a pair of jeans. I put on a grey skirt and a purple t-shirt, complementing it with a necklace with a silver star hanging on it. Keiko bothered the most about her look, she was wearing a beautiful red dress with white dots.
"Keiko, you look amazing." I complimented and her cheeks became the same colour as her lipstick.
"Well, that's my favourite dress and I thought this is a suitable situation to wear it." she smiled.
We had only a few minutes left till the start so we hurried downstairs. A second before the teacher stepped in the class we sat down in the back of the class. It almost felt like a normal school for the next few hours. I mean, math sucked as much as in normal schools. But the afternoon classes were as normal as flying wolves are. Not at all.First was All About Dreamers. The teacher, mrs. Lauren Rileen was a tall woman, around thirty years old with a really funny and old-fashioned hairstyle.
"Good afternoon class!" she exclaimed. "First some basis things about us - Dreamers. Till our fourteenth birthday, the only thing that's a bit unusual about us is that we always remember our dreams. After you become fourteen, your powers start to develop - that's the reason this school was established. We'll help you develop your powers."
"Every Dreamer has its own wolf and if you haven't noticed, they are quite special. Dreamers' wolves can fly and have a special mark on their tail. The other wolf with the same mark is wolf's soulmate so you must let them spend time together which means you have to be good friends with the owner of the other wolf."
"Next thing I wanted to talk about was saving and discovering meanings of your dreams. We can control dreams, but that's only if we fall asleep artificially. You'll learn about that later. If it's a natural sleep, we'll dream something completely random, well, at least that's what we think. Every natural dream has its meaning and if you can guess it correctly, it can be a secret message or can help in predicting future. That's what you'll learn in "Discovering and guessing meanings of our dreams" class." she said.
"Couldn't they think of a shorter name?" Amber whispered and Keiko and I chuckled quietly.
"We can call it DAGMOOD." I said, laughing quietly.
"Yeah, that's definitely less complicated." Keiko commented sarcastically and Amaya snorted.
"Hmm...let's see if I forgot something I should tell you. Right!" she exclaimed "Saving your dreams." she handed everyone a silver full moon pendant. I took it in the palm of my hand. It was cold and kinda heavy for an ordinary pendant. But I have the feeling this is not an ordinary one.
"What is this?" someone in the room asked.
"This is a very precious thing. Take care of it. You can say it's a kind of an USB stick. Every night your dream will be saved on it so you can put it in your computer and re-watch it. That can help you remember all the details. All your dreams since your fourteenth birthday are already on it. You don't have a computer in your rooms, but everyone can easily go into the Computer room to access their dreams." she explained.Enthusiastic exclamations like wow and cool were heard all over the classroom. Saving your dreams on USB stick? Weird, but good kind of weird. Like everything here, probably.
I took of my necklace and slid the pendant on it, then put it back around my neck. Now, I certainly won't lose it.
"Okay, you can ask me some questions till the end of the class." she said and glanced over the room. Her face lit up when she saw a hand in the air. It was Toby. Or maybe Max? Ugh, this is so confusing. My apologies to all the twins I'll ever meet in my life.
"How long will we be here? What about our families?" Toby asked, I realised it because of his voice. It was deeper than Maxes.
"Oh, Toby, this is a really tough question. Right now, there are some problems, well, they might occur soon. Our enemies are called Dark Knights." she started explaining. I bursted into hysterical laughter. The rest of the class stared at me, but I couldn't stop.
"We have enemies that are called Dark Knights? Please change your cheesy name and maybe we can start taking you seriously." I explained what made me laugh so hard and the class soon joined me.
"Stop! Stop it!" mrs. Rileen shouted and it was suddenly quiet again. "Miss Angers, please try to control your laughter next time."
I frowned, but nodded.
"So, I'll continue with my explanation if nobody else has a sudden urge to laugh uncontrollably." she scanned the class like she expected someone to raise a hand "Your parents think that you went to a normal high-school and it's important that it stays that way." she answered another Toby's question. The bell rang, announcing the end of the class. It was the first day of classes so we were free for the rest of the day.
