Old crush

I wake up the next morning.

'Where am I....? Oh right...'

I remembered last night. Going to the Kujo's to take back the artifact my great-grandfather made. But it turned out the Kujo's were just guarding all of these artifacts until the rightful owner comes to get it.

I get up out of bed and head out to the kitchen and see Taiga making breakfast.

Taiga: oh, hey. You're up early. Want some breakfast?

I sit down at the table.

Rachel: Yeah sure!

I smile at Taiga and he smiles back.

Riki walks into the room and sits down next to me.

Riki: Morning.

I look at Riki.

Rachel: Good morning!

After I say this Taiga puts a plate in front of me with bacon and eggs.

Rachel: oh! This looks so good! Thank you!

I start eating up and they just stare at me.

Rachel: Um...is there something on my face...?

They both realize they were staring and avert they're eyes.

Riki: No. It's nothing.

I awkwardly go back to eating my breakfast when all the others come out.

After breakfast we all head out thanking Taiga and Hyosuke.

We get in the van and start driving back to LRN.

*Buzzz* *buzzz*

I get a text message from Haruki.

Haruki: Hey Rachel. I wanted to know if you could hang out with us today. We're going to the festival tomorrow night and wanted to know if you wanted to come with us.

Riki: Who is it?

I show Riki the text.

Rachel: Can I go?

He looks at the text thinking.

Riki: Yeah. Sure.

'Yay! Now I can hang out with my friends without these gu--'

Riki: We'll be going with you too of course.

'......ugh....!'

Rachel: Fine. Whatever.

Riki looks at me offended.

Riki: Ok. Ok. Dial down the sass.

I look at him slightly annoyed.

Rachel: Sorry. I just kinda wanted to hang out with my friends....by myself.

I roll my eyes and sigh.

Riki: Oh well. This way we will know where you are. And we will know if you'll say anything about us. It seems like you're one to slip up and say something accidentally.

He smirks and I feel offended.

Rachel: Gee thanks. But I don't think I'll 'accidentally' say something about you guys. I think I'd like to keep my life.
