Keegan Brown

"So, why are you here?" My new cell mate, Jack Johnson asked.

"Oh, I was a drug dealer..." I replied.

He chuckled and lifted his eyebrow, "That's it? You were just a drug dealer?"

"Uh, okay. Why are you here then?"

"I murdered someone, no big deal."

I looked at him wide eyes as he smirked. Why would they put my in the same cell as a fucking murderer? I just sold drugs, I didn't kill anyone.

"What? How?" I quietly asked.

"It's a long story." He sighed.

"Hey, I got time..." I raised my shoulders.

"Fine, long story short, I murdered my dad."

To make things worse, he killed his own dad. Not some random person, but the man who raised him. "What? Your own dad? How could you even do that?"

"See, you're quick to judge, Keegan. You don't know why I murdered him."

"Well why? Was he abusive? Did he try killing you? You know, murdering someone isn't such a good solution!" I yelled out.

"It's none of your fucking business why I killed him! I'm probably going to be in jail all my life! You're not going to be here for long, I saw your little boyfriend Jack Gilinsky talking to the police begging you to come out!" He stood up and paced around the small area.

I furrowed my eyebrows together and wondered, "How do you know his name? Oh, and he isn't my boyfriend. We have a complicated relationship."

"We were best friends."

"You were best friends? What happened?"

"Yeah, we were best friends since kindergarten. We were practically brothers. Two years ago, when I told him I was gay, he asked who I liked and I said I had feelings for him. Then he never spoke to me since."

I couldn't believe Jack would do that to him. They could've worked things out, and Johnson wanted to. but Jack denied.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, Jack." I said smiling and putting my hands out for a hug. Yeah, we just met, but I felt like he needed one at the moment.

He smiled and hugged me back. "When you leave, Keegan, make sure to visit me often."
