Christina's POV
I woke up the next morning in Luke's arms. I sat there for at least ten minutes watching his chest rise and fall while he snored softly. I could have sat there forever just being lulled by his heartbeat if I didn't have to sneeze really bad. I tried my best but it's hard to control. "Achoo!" I spit out and Luke jumped. Then he laughed and smiled.
"Did you really just have to sneeze? I was trying to sleep, man. " I rolled my eyes.
"If I didn't sneeze I could've spontaneously combusted. So unless you want to be scraping my insides of my bedroom walls, I suggest you let me sneeze."
"I will. You're sneeze is cute like a little kitten." I looked at him and rolled my eyes.
"You sound like Michael you fucking weirdo." We had a very 'exclusive' friend group that consists of Luke, me, and our friends Michael, Calum, and Ashton. We aren't exactly what you'd call popular. We're a group full of misfit, nerds and rockers, off all ends of the spectrum creating a weird ragtag teenage clique similar to one that would be the underdog heroes in a disney film. Somehow I just happened to be picked out of the crowd by the most popular boy in school, automatically thinking it was destiny, immediately disregarding all warnings from the guys, proceeding without caution and accepting what my life now was with Carter. Ignoring him and his friends picking on and bullying my only friends was something I thought I'd never do but within a few short months, it was exactly what I was doing. Every week I'd turn my cheek to Michael, getting pushed to the lockers and tormented, as he used his only defense of comedy and sarcasm just to be beat up more. I would walk away from Ashton being tripped, his glasses hitting the ground, paper and books scattering everywhere. There was Calum being called names in the hallway, to which he'd have to be a hard ass and flip them off, though it earned him nothing but a fresh bruise. And Luke...... Luke got it the worst. They didn't only bully him at school but online. They never let him live, watched his every move and found something bad to say about it. They pushed him around physically, verbally, even mentally. It got so bad that Luke even started to doubt himself... I was so blind I didn't even notice it until I started being beaten also.
"Um speaking of Michael.... How are the guys?" The second I started dating Carter I was pulled from my own world and into his. Everything was upside down, I acted differently, I spoke differently, I even thought differently... The boys were immediately done with my shit, respected my choice and decided to let me go my own way. It was one of the worst mistakes of my life.
"Well Michael's mom found out about his tattoo. She was a lot less pissed than we had thought so now he might be getting more. Calum met 'the girl of his dreams' on tumblr, and we're all like three hundred percent sure he's being catfished. And Ashton got another hamster, and even though he's a genius with a 4.0 grade point average, he named it Hammy." I giggled at the last one.
"Again? Wow....... Well you know it is Saturday...."
"Yes great observation."
"And you have a car.."
"Another true accusation."
"And we aren't doing anything....." He sighed.
"You wanna see the guys, don't you?" I nodded timidly as he started stretching out of bed.
"Well Michael's parents are running all day shifts so I was going to go over there.... If you go ahead and get dressed I'll take you over with me. I'm sure they won't mind seeing you again..."
"I doubt they'll want to see me.... I was a bitch...."
¨They understand.... You didn't mean it. You didn't see what was happening to them. Why don't you get dressed and we can go over there, yeah?" I nodded and got out of bed. I threw on a pair of black shorts with a huge oversized sweater that covered the bruises on my arms. I threw my hair into a messy bun and didn't bother putting on makeup knowing these boys won't care. I looked over to Luke trying to wash himself up the best that he could without changing clothes. I had just walked in when he was stealing my deodorant.
"Lucas whatcha doin?" He put it under his arms like it was nothing and I began to laugh.
"I'm putting on deodorant, duh."
"You want to smell like a Caribbean coconut?"
"Hell yeah coconut smells great." I giggled.
"Okay if that's what you prefer." He nodded.
"It is what I prefer." I laughed as I started lugging myself down the stairs and out the door to his piece of shit jeep. I use the term piece of shit lightly, it's a model from 1980 and I love it, but people think it sucks because it's old. I threw myself into the passenger's seat of his car. He came down about a minute later, still groggy and tired, pulling his keys out of his pocket and putting them in the ignition.
"Are you sure they don't hate me?"
"Chris they're we're your best friends. I didn't hold a grudge did I? The only person who might hold back is Michael, just because he's stubborn from being hurt so many times before." I just nodded half heartedly, thinking about how close Michael and I used to be. I told him almost everything. And now I haven't had a proper conversation in months. "I promise it'll be fine." He started driving and I guess all I had to do was believe him.
----------------------
It actually pained me to write about the guys getting bullied just because they've helped me through so much and I hate thinking of them having to go through that. But yeeeeah update sweet. That's all I have to say... Love you friends
