He pulled up to the small Australian suburban house that had nothing but Ashton's silver Kia in the driveway. My palms were becoming sweaty as he put the car into park and hopped out. I tried to will myself to join him but I couldn't.

"Are you coming?" He looked at me confused at my sudden stage fright-like quality I had earned myself just thinking about seeing my former best friends. Hearing what they think of me after how I've treated them. They probably hated me, but then again if they do I I wouldn't blame them. We had this pact. To always look out for each other. When any of us were in trouble we'd stand up for them or go down together. I broke that promise. I strayed from every aspect of this friendship we've been building up since primary school. I've known Luke since before we were even in school. He lived on my street. All I had wanted my whole childhood was a playmate. When I saw him I knew he would be perfect for the job. I met Michael in kindergarten. I hadn't been put into the same class with Luke, and I was upset to say the least. So when I knew no one, and sat in the corner at recess looking at the class terrified, he came by and sat by me, asking me if I was okay. He was a ball of energy, you'd be lucky if you got him to stop talking for ten seconds. Unless I was talking, to him. He could sit and listen forever. At first Luke and Michael hated each other, they both wanted to be closer than the other, when I knew I could never pick a favorite, and they were fighting over nothing. Soon enough they were bonding over music choices and talking about how hot celebrities are. We met Calum and Ashton in grade two. They were both transfers, from two different schools, neither of them had any friends so we invited them to sit with us at lunch. Ever since then we were inseparable.

"I can't do this Luke..... What if they hate me? What if Michael doesn't forgive me? I didn't mean to hurt him, I-I didn't mean to hurt any of them." He took my hand and helped me out of the car. "I promise It'll be okay, we all love you too much to just let that change our friendship." I nodded trying to believe him, though it was hard. He held my hand all the way up to the door where I hid behind him trying to go unnoticed. He knocked softly on the door, squeezing my hand as the door opened, revealing Michael. Michael was around six feet one inch tall, with hair that he always dyed, but was currently orange. He's really into music and plays guitar, but also loves video games and hates school. He stood there in front of us, in his black skinny jeans, and just by the looks of it, I could tell he had gotten beat up recently. He had a dark purplish bruise under his left eye, and he wore a large black sweater covering his arms, using the same technique as I did to hide the bruising. And even though on the outside, he looked so beaten, and battered, and hurt, under all of that his heart was pure, and perfect as he still offered a bright smile to both of us, his green eyes sparkling.

"Lucas, I see you brought an old friend." He didn't look mad at all, but surprisingly over joyed. His smile stayed as he reached a hand out to me. "You don't have to hide behind him for the whole day, I'm not mad, love." I looked back at Luke was smiling this closed mouth grin, small but noticeably happy no one was holding any grudges. I put my small hand into Michaels, and he practically yanked my arm off pulling me into a hug. "The guys are in the living room, Calum is getting ready to skype his, online girlfriend."

"For the first time?" He nodded.

"His really excited, he said this one is real, and beautiful, and funny, and smart."

"And everyone knows he's being catfished again, right?"

"Yeah but we don't tell him that, we want him to have a chance."

"Any bets on how old this pedophile he's been talking to then?"

"I've got ten bucks on fifty year old man, Luke's got five on a forty year old women, and Ashton thinks it's just going to be a really ugly girl. He put in seven."

"You guys are awful...... I'll put ten in and split with you if it's a man fifty or older." He laughed.

"I'm holding you on that now, ten bucks." I smiled following him to the living room where I could see Ashton playing his DS on the couch and Calum sitting in front of his laptop, fixing his hair. "Hey guys, look who decided to show up." Ashton tiredly looked up from what was probably an intense pokemon battle, until he finally caught my gaze.

"Christie?" He grinned brightly his eyes immediately lighting up. Ashton had the kind of smile that could make flowers grow. The saddest person in the world could glance at him, and that one smile he offered would change their whole life. He dropped everything he was doing, hopping up to hug me. I hugged back right away, missing the warm, friendly embrace of his arms. "We missed you..." I didn't know how to respond to such a welcome when I had expected to be rejected, so I just nodded. After a while, he let go and I wandered over to where Cal sat nervously playing with his hands.

"You look really nervous.... Girl friend, or did you just shit yourself?" He looked up with his eyebrows furrowed until he met my eyes. His features softened slightly.

"Hey Chrisi.... "

"Don't be nervous Cal, I'm sure she's just as great as she was in text." He smiled at me.

"Thanks for believing that.."

"I bet she's beautiful."

"She is.... What if she doesn't like the way I look?"

"You are attractive Calum Hood. I'm not even going to fight the fact that that girl is probably in love with you."

"Thanks Chris."

"No problem." The skype ringtone began to play off of Calums laptop and he quickly called everyone in. We settled onto the couch behind his screen as he reached out clicking the button to answer her call.
