14. Mall

Almost everyone was seated at the long table for breakfast. Some still hadn't woken up yet, while others finished quickly and headed off to do whatever it was they had planned for the day. Nolee was seated in her chair playing with the food in her plate with a fork, mindlessly as she waited for Deepika to arrive. She had tons of questions to ask her about last night since she hadn't seen or heard from Deepika after she left for the date.

"Nolee, is everything ok?" Mrs. Sonya asked from a few seats away.

Nolee looked up and nodded. "Yeah, um I'm fine. Just waiting for Deepika."

On the mention of her name, Deepika walked out of the house and paced towards the table.

"Well she's here now." Mrs. Sonya grinned.

"Yeah..." Nolee noticed Deepika was smiling widely, where her dimple sunk deep into her cheek. Being her best friend, Nolee knew very well Deepika was never a morning person. And to see her smiling so big, she definitely was suspicious.

"Good morning!" Deepika greeted and searched for what to eat from the table. "I'm starving."

"Good morning to you too. You seem in a pretty good mood."

"I guess because I am." Deepika shrugged, without that smile falling from her lips.

After Deepika sat back satisfied with what she had on her plate, Nolee faced her and asked "So how was it last night?"

"Amazing!" Deepika chuckled as she popped a grape into her mouth.

Nolee's eyes immediately went wide and her mouth fell open. "What do you mean by 'amazing'?"

"Zayn's a really sweet guy, who knew? He set up dinner for the both of us by the dock and get this, he ordered pizza!" Deepika giggled. "Absolutely adorable."

Nolee scrunched her eyebrows in confusion. She found it odd to hear Deepika say so many positive things about Zayn. She wanted to say something but she didn't know what to say exactly, so Deepika continued on.

"We talked and found out about each other and can you believe we have so many things in common?"

"Deepika, I don-" before Nolee could speak, she got interrupted.

"Morning babe." Zayn stood beside Deepika and greeted her with pecking her on the cheek.

"Morning." Deepika grinned.

Nolee watched in horror as she tried to process what she had just witnessed.

After Deepika watched Zayn sit with Leo and Toby a couple of seats away, she turned to face Nolee and said blushingly, "Oh yeah minor detail, we kissed."

Nolee furiously pushed away from the table and stood up, causing some of the students to look at her. "Minor detail my ass." she huffed and stomped away.

"Nolee?" Deepika's smile fell and she immediately set off to run after her. "Nolee!" She caught up to her and stood in front of her panting. "What happened?"

"I thought I was your best friend!"

"You are! Who said you weren't?" Deepika was beyond confused by Nolee's odd behaviour.

Nolee closed her eyes and sighed heavily. She opened them again and said, "How come I didn't find out earlier? Wait let me guess, you two were busy making out!"

"Hey!" Deepika pulled Nolee's hand to stop her from walking away from her. "No we did not make out. After dinner, we ended up sitting on the beach just talking. Next thing I knew, it was two so we went back to the house and fell asleep. Besides, I wanted to tell you in person. But why are you acting so weird?"
