Holiday Cabin

Chapter 1

Cara's POV

"Phoooone. Phone. Phone, phone, phone. Gah my phone where is it !", I groaned tearing the sheets off my bed and shaking my pillows.
"Looking for this?", Kayla dangled the phone from the tips of her thumb and middle finger.
"Give me that", I grabbed the phone off her checking for full battery as we both let out a giggle.

"Come on we are all waiting in the mini bus outsiiide", Kayla moaned getting inpatient. "Alright, alright I just gotta go over the list and make sure I have everything. Clothes, check, pj's, check, phone - ", I was cut off by Kayla finishing my sentence.
"Check. You have everything now let's go! We are waiting", Kayla laughed dragging me down the stairs.

"You alright so?", my mom asked me as I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge for the road. "Yep. I've everything", I replied throwing the bottle of water and catching it again.
"Did you remember your bed?", my dad joked. "Nooo, there's just no room in my suitcase", I joked back. I was kind of serious at the same time though. "Okay give me a hug so", my dad asked. I gave him his hug and he patted me on the head. I pretended to punch him and he did the same back. It's just a thing we do.

I gave my mom the same hug but left out the fake punching, she doesn't do it right. 'If you're going to do it, do it right' is what I'd tell her and we would both laugh about it.
"I'll see you in August then", she told me.
"Have your phone on you at all times. Text us when you get there okay?", my dad informed me. "Okay", I listened.
"And don't talk to strangers!", he shouted for me to hear as I was walking out the door.
"Okay!", I shouted back. "Bye!".
"Bye!p", they replied.

Kayla was standing outside the door of the mini bus with annoyance in her face. "And long last", she let me go in first. Everyone cheered, and by everyone of course I mean my friends. "Over here girl!", Peyton waved her hand to grab my attention, calling me over to sit next to her.

"Are we all buckled up lads?", Jeremy shouted from the drivers seat. "Yeeeaaahhh", we all shouted back sounding like complete zombies.

The engine started then we began to cheer.

We were all heading up the country a few hours away from town, to stay in a new cottage my mom and dad had bought a few months ago. It was more like a cabin but it was big enough for all of us to fit.

We are just after our pointless fourth year exams and we all wanted to spend a lot of time together. Not that we never spend time together. If I'm being honest, we see each other more than we see our families. We just wanted to get away for the summer and spend time in a different area. Discover new things together.

My parents offered for us to stay in their new cottage or cabin whatever you want to call it, so they know exactly where we are. They don't actually think we are going to spend every moment and breathe in their do they? Depends how far away from town it is I suppose.

"Alright lads what game should we play?", Emily suggested.
Emily was new to our group. She was born in New York, she came to our school this year and we all immediately clicked with her. She had such a bubbly personality but I must be honest, she's the bossiest and most vane person I know. Still one of the funniest.

"How about an old game of eye spy? I'll be on", she decided.
"Eye spy with my little eye somethinnng... beautiful", she smiled to herself.
"Lauren", Luke called out looking at Lauren with a cheeky smile. "What no!? It's me !", Emily punched Luke's arm.

Emily has one of those crushes on Luke where she is so controlling and wants Luke aaaaall to herself. Then Lauren, she also has a crush on Luke and Luke has a crush on Lauren. Emily knows about Luke's never dying crush on Lauren and that is one thing she really can't take.
Emily adores Lauren though, at least that's what she tries to show us.

"Hahah oh Luke, your jokes never get old", Emily smiled as she scooched in closer to him.
Emily was at the back of the bus in the middle of all the lads. She's boy crazy. Or as we like to joke, Luke crazy.

Sometimes Lauren defends her and says how could she blame her, but Emily being all crazy about him does annoy her. Of course Emily doesn't know about this 'Luke crazy' joke.

"Ehm, it wasn't a jo -".
"Oh Luke stop I'm already laughing haha-".
"Okaaayy lets play a different game", I interrupted Emily interrupting Luke.

Lauren chuckled to herself. "Any ideas!?", Lauren asked us.
"Sleeeeeeeep", Kayla replied with a sleeping mask on her face.
"I'm with Kayla on this one", Talia next to her mumbled with the same sleeping mask on her face.
I laughed to myself.
"Yeah I think that's a good idea, maybe we should get some sleep so we can be wide awake for our first day. We want to make it exciting", I sided with Kayla and Talia.
"That's not a bad idea", Courtney agreed.

"You guys do that I'll just drive you half way up the country", Jeremy sarcastically said with a sigh. "Relax you just started", Jason said whilst getting comfortable in his seat.
"I'll continue for you when you get tired bud", Luke offered.
"Cheers lad".

I sat back in my seat and began to breathe slowly. I closed my eyes and smiled. This is going to be a fun holiday. I thought to myself. I hope.

I dozed off
