We need to talk (update)

Hey there guys! It's Joe.

So I wanted to give a quick update as to what's been up with me and stuff seeing as that's kind of become like a monthly thing so, ya.

So the book has passed 600 reads which is awesome. Just want to thank all of you for that.

School...sucks. I think most of us would agree on that. The only things I really like so far have really been my guitar/songwriting class an my music/audio technology class. Those classes are awesome. The rest are good too, but they stress me out so.

The main reason I'm writing this though is to talk about the interactions I have with the people who decide to follow me or give any of my books a vote. I had an incident this past weekend regarding this and I want to just let you guys have a good understanding of why I do what I do.

So I've been reading a lot more stuff on Wattpad lately and I'm one of those people who votes on everything I read, because I like everything I read. I want to show my support for these people to keep being creative and stuff by giving them what gets me motivated with writing on here and that is through voting and following these people.

Now there is also the chance that this same person who I followed and voted for may follow me back. If they do that, I will send them a private message probably saying something like, "Hey! Thank you so much for the follow! It means so much!" or something along those lines. This all also applies to someone who just stumbles across my stuff and votes or follows me.

If the person messages me back, I'll usually try to start a conversation with them. Now let me explain why.

I love getting to know new people. I find new people so interesting and just a breath of fresh air compared to all the people I know in a physical sense.

I want you all to know how much it means to me that you think I'm actually worth your time and I think the best way to do that is to interact with you guys and get to know you all individually.

This is where problems can occur however.

Let me say this now:

I am not trying to be a creep. I am not trying to stalk you. I am not trying to do anything to you other than just be friends.

If you take the time to read anything that I write, you'll know that I'm too nice to try and hurt someone in that kind of way.

Hell, I already have a girlfriend guys. She brightens up my world so much and makes me so happy, it would be the dumbest and most idiotic decision in my life to try and cheat on her.

Now if you don't want to talk to me, just message me after I send my initial message and I will leave you be. I am totally fine with that.

I wanted to tell you all this because of something that happened over the weekend that made me realize what all this can look like.

I had followed a fellow author after reading some of their work and we started talking. Eventually they asked me if I had an instagram and though I didn't I created one immediately because the messaging on Wattpad can at times be a bit buggy.

Shortly there afterwords, I received a message from the same author stating that this was the brother of the author speaking and that they would appreciate it if I stopped messaging them...they also made some choice comments about how I look regarding my newly created instagram.

Now I'm not sure, but I think their brother also blocked me from their sibling's account because I lost both a follower and someone I was following, but the account still exists so I'm not entirely sure.

All in all this made me realize that I should be very clear with my intents for this account as a whole.

I want this to be a community. I've met some amazing people through Wattpad and I want to keep meeting more of them and I want them to meet eachother.

That's what I want.

I know that right now, I only have 8 followers, but that alone is amazing to me and I plan on growing as time goes on.

P.S. To the author who was involved in the incident I spoke of, if you by chance read this, please know that if anything I said or did made you think that I was trying to take advantage of you, I am so utterly and deeply sorry. It was completely unintentional. I would message you, but seeing as I'm blocked by you on here, I can't do that and I'm too scared to message you on instagram out of fear that the same thing will happen, so this is the best I can do. Also if your brother was trying to protect, he was completely warranted in what he did. If not, it's still fine because I actually laughed at him calling me ugly. I do hope you read this though because I don't want anyone thinking I'm a bad person. I just want to be everyones friend.
