"Alright Trojan we have to go." I finished a shot of tequila and threw the cup in the sink then grabbed his arm and led him out to the car. Everyone waved bye to us as we left Mae's condo. "Get in the passengers side, you're not driving." I led him to the other side of my car and opened the door. "Alright come on, you didn't even drink more than one shot."
He raised his eyebrows and laughed hoarsely.
"Okay, nevermind." I shoved him in the car and closed his door then got in and turned on the ignition.
The sun was rising and the last remnants of the night began to slowly fade. I had work to do today, and somehow, I just knew I wasn't going to enjoy it.
Putting the car in reverse, I began backing out, until a blond guy ran up to my window and signaled for me to roll in down.
I clicked the button and watched it slowly lower, then looked up at him. "Yes?" I said without emotion.
"You're Riane right?"
"Uh, yeah."
"Do you know where Dawn is?"
My heart started racing. This must be Lincoln, I knew I recognised him! "Yeah! She's in there.. did you not see her?"
"Well I wasn't sure, I think I did, but she ran away."
I held in a laugh, then told him to hold on a sec. "Trojan, I'll be right back." I took the keys and stuffed them in my pocket then walked back up to the house witb Lincoln. Knocking on the door, I smiled as Mae opened it.
"You're back! More party!!!"
"No, I just thought I'd help out Dawn and-"
"Is she here?" Lincoln interrupted me.
"Yeah!" Mae took Lincolns arm and went into the house.
I smiled at the thought of Dawn finally being happy. Yet, you never know what could happen.
I walked back to the car and got in. Trojan shifted quickly. "Trojan, so help me if you're faking drunkenness."
He laughed and sat up in his seat. "Sorry, it's just so fun! And I never said I had more than one drink!"
"UUghh, whatever, come on man." I put the car in drive and drove back home.
