It's now Friday and I'm sitting in second period bored out of my mind. Pre-Calculus is hard as hell and, at this moment I don't care that I'm not passing.

Kai and I are on our phones, talking. We didn't even bother to start on the worksheet Mrs. Kennedy handed out. It wasn't due today, so we sat the paper aside and did our own thing.

"I'm going to kill Austin!" Kai groans.

"Why?" I giggle.

"He's not coming to school, when he promised to come today." she says rolling her eyes.

That's nothing new.

Austin barely comes to school and I don't see how they're still in a relationship, but that's none of my business. As long as he doesn't break her heart were good. And hopefully it stays that way.

"Does your father still have you on lock down?" Kai asks. I give her a 'what-do-you-think' look. "I should've known that." she laughs and I nod.

"I'll probably be off, if I pass this quiz Monday. I'm tired of being trapped in that damn hell hole." I state.

"Good 'cause I need someone to hangout with next weekend."

"What are you trying to do?"

"Go shopping. I need some new shoes." she states.

The last thirty minutes of class we started on the worksheet and finished pretty quickly.

At lunch, our clique went through the line to grab our food. Today I got the chicken bites with fries and some fruit on the side.

We sat down at our regular table and engaged in a conversation.

"You trying to chill today?" Dylan asks me.

"No. I'm still on lock down baby."

"Damn. How about next weekend?"

"I don't know. I'm trying to go shopping with Kai. If I can go, I'll let you know and you can come." I say and he nods.

I know he's annoyed that I haven't been able to hang out with him lately but he'll get over it. I'm annoyed too because I miss hanging out with him.

"But you've been making more time with Kai than me. I don't understand that."

"She's my best friend. You don't know what this girl has done for me over the last eight years." I state loudly. Kai tells me to calm down and I take a deep breath. "I don't want to argue with you about this again. I promise I'll make more time for you when I'm off lock down." I tell him calmly.

"I'm sorry baby. I just miss you, is all." he apologizes.

I smiled at his words and kissed him on the cheek. A shade of redness burned through his face. I giggled quietly to myself.

We continue to talk for another five minutes until I stop in the middle of my sentence and see Austin creeping behind Kai. He places his finger over his mouth signaling everyone to keep quiet. Once he's behind her, he covers her eyes.

"Who the hell is this?" Kai asks curiously.

"Take a wise guess." I laugh.
