Chapter Four: What Hunger Does to You

After much begging,Jorden let me keep Farren. Today was the day we were going back to Hogwarts. When I say we,I mean my cousin and I because yesterday he told me that he was going to be an assistant teacher to all of the teachers so i'll probably see him around. I then asked him. "Wait, How did you get a teaching job at Hogwarts?" "Well,he told me while rubbing the back of his head, Last year while you were at school when I had Aunt Erika and Uncle Allen gave me permission to raise you. I realized that I needed another job so after I discovered that you were fine, I went to talk to Dumbledore to see if I could get a teaching job. He didn't have one on spot but offered me an assistant job instead." "Why? I asked him, You were doing well in other teaching job. Why quit?" "I wanted to be closer to you. He told me, and besides their muggle teachers will be grading the papers,so i'm good." He added with his famous grin. I shook my and told him, "Let's go before we miss our train." As we climbed up the Hogwarts express and put our things away. Jorden and I then saved us a compartment for my friends as the train started to move I got a little hungry and I then told Jorden that I was getting a snack and offered to get him something. He wanted chocolate frogs, I was looking for the trolley lady I felt a sudden cold in the air. I kept going thinking someone opened a window but as I kept going someone bumped into me, "Get out of my way mud- he stopped in the middle of his sentence. I looked up to see Draco Malfoy, I'm s-sorry." He told me in fear while helping me up. I was confused. Why was he scared and most importantly, What did my cousin do to his family? After he was done he ran off. I then continued my search until I saw a figure in a cloak. Maybe he can help me, I thought to myself as I started walking to the figure but as I did I felt as if I could never smile again. When I looked at me. I feel to the floor I then heard a familiar voices say something then my name and nothing.

Jorden's POV

I was waiting in our compartment thinking then I heard a commotion outside. I looked out to see that Malfoy kid breathless. "Hey kid! I called,he tensed up but looked at at me,What happened to you? Did you ran a marathon or something?" He then told me he was talking to Harry Potter when a cloaked thing came in and attacked them. I interrupted him, "So let me get this straight,You were making fun of Potter then something scared you and ran off,right?" He mumbled something, "What?" I asked. I said "Yes sir." He told me. "Thought so,Anyways have you seen my cousin?" His eyes then got big then looked at me fear. "What did you do?" I asked him with clenched teeth. He started to shake,then tried to run off but I grabbed him by his shirt then pinned him against the wall. "Now i'll asked you this again once more. Where. is. my. cousin?" I asked him while repeated the last question slowly so he'll get the message. "I-I passed her while running away." "Where?" I asked more threatening. "I-I think I saw-She g-going toward it." "So you ran off to protect yourself? Like father like son." I muttered the last past to myself. I then let him go, apparently he heard me because he kept going off on how his father did this and that I had enough then said, "Beat it kid, I have better things that to deal with you now." He then left while muttered About how his father will hear about this. I'll like to see him try to do something. I thought to myself while turning the corner then I saw them,a Dementor and my cousin. I saw her walking up to it like an idiot. "Tiger!" I yelled but it was too late. Suddenly I saw a bright light,while I heard the spell. I took that chance to pick her up after I did that I turned around to see one of them,Remus Lupin. I then said with a smirk. "Hey Lupin. Long time no see?" He just looked at me in shock.
