"Thank you." I say to the doctor
"Not a problem, any longer and it would've gotten infected." He tells me smiling slightly

They had a doctor come in and stitch my side up, they said after they finish getting the story straight I can go home. I don't know why they aren't arresting me. Its my fault Al's dead.

I lay on the cold metal bed, staring up at the ceiling, with one sentence repeating in my head, "I killed Al. I killed Al. I killed Al... I killed Al...."

After a hour or two an officer comes and unlocks the door, "You're free to go, thank you for your corporation."

Without saying anything in reply I get up and follow her out. I see my parents sitting in the chairs in the waiting area, next to them is the gang and Caleb.

Once my mom sees me she stands up, runs over to me, and embraces me in a bone crushing hug, "Can't breath," I say
"Sorry, I was just so worried about you! How are you holding up?"
"I'm fine," I reply
"Are you sure? You don't look fine."
"What do you think mom? I just killed Al." I say and start walking out of the station
"What are you doing?" Mom says catching up to me
"Walking home." I tell her, not even taking my eyes off of the sidewalk
"We brought the car"
"I want to walk, to help clear my mind" I respond
"What about the reporters?" She asks
"I don't care about them," I reply without any emotion, "See you at home."

I walk off leaving her standing there, and as she said the reporters. I ignore them and keep walking. After 45 minutes I finally make it back to the street I live on. As I make my way to the house I see a couple of car parked on the side of the road in front of my yard.

I quietly make my way to the backyard, good thing dad has been repainting the house. I quietly move the ladder next to the window in my room, I climb up the ladder and open the window. I always leave the window unlocked, I like to get some fresh air while doing my homework.
