Raven was sitting in recess all alone in a bench trying to read a book about some guy trying to understand where all his friends have gone to. He thinks they're throwing him a surprise birthday party but in reality they were killed by an assassin, the same who killed his parents. Very tragic indeed but for some reason Raven loved drama and horror mixed together, it was so entretaining.
-H-hello?.- A voice in front of her.- I was wondering if I could sit next to you... I won't be trouble I just want to read without being called a freak.- It was a boy with brown hair, large nose and deep black eyes.
-Yeah, of course.- Raven made space for him and he sat next to her.- Why would anyone call you a freak?
-Because I believe in magic.- Raven could remember her time in Wonderland. How she was a hazard and left to this land with no magic so that she could protect the people she loved.- Because I think that fairytales are real, that everyone in this town is a fairytale character.
-I don't think you're a freak. I think that what you say is true.
-Really?
-Yeah, let me show you.- Raven took the great book he had in his hands and searched for her own story.- If everyone in this book is, as you say, a person in this town then...- Raven finally found it.- My story should be here.- She saw how she was banished, how she made people suffer. And the boy did too.- Wait, this is wrong. I wasn't banished from Wonderland, and I would never do such terrible things as it says here. Why would someone write all this horrible things?!
-I don't know, maybe the curse made you forget who you truly were, just like with everyone else.
-Maybe. Do you really think I would do something like that?
-I don't know, I couldn't believe my mom casted a curse that would create this town and erase everyone's memories.
-Did she really do that?
-It's what I believe she did. I know you wouldn't believe me, nobody does and maybe I shouldn't either.- What he didn't know is that she got a little bit of her memories, how her magic worked and someone she hurt.
-No, no. You're right. Magic is real and if this book says I did what I did then, when I get my memories back I'll have to deal with the truth.- They both sighed at the same time.
-So what's your name?
-Raven and you are?
-Henry.- His name felt like something she had to remember or she would forget it forever, like something she didn't want to let slip away from her mind.
-It's so nice to meet you, Henry.- Raven smiled and he smiled back.
-It's so nice to meet you too, Raven.-They shook hands, and from that moment they became best friends. Henry would invite her to his house and viceversa. They would talk about the book and who was which character, they would laugh and play and do all sorts of things, little by little Henry won Raven's heart and made her feel like the happiest girl alive, but it wasn't the moment Raven kissed him. It was when Raven took Henry out of Pandora's box when he was in Pan's body, she knew something was off with Henry and she wanted to know what:
-What did you do to Henry?!.- Raven had a murderer look in her eyes.
-Raven, calm down it's me, Henry. He switched bodies with me.- Pan's voice sounded over the one that was on his mind.
-You tortured me, played with me and broke my heart all in the same year! How can I trust anything you say?!
-Please, Raven try to understand that wasn't me.
-Then how do I know you're not playing with me...again?
-Because I know you in ways Pan will never understand.
-Like...?
-Like...- Henry tried to think of something only both of them would know.- How I call you Hummingbird because Ravens are too gruesome to represent you, I know how much you love to wear your beanie and converse everyday, how everytime you smile you frown the next second because you don't think that happy moment is going to last, I know how painful it was for you to remember your past and I know that everytime you hug me you're terrified of hurting me but our friendship is more important to you than any stupid power.- That's when everything clicked, it was Henry, the only person that knew Raven even sometimes better than Raven herself.
-Oh, Henry.- She ran to hug him and she held him like she was meeting him after 10 years.- You don't know how much I've missed you.
-Well it can't be less than how much I missed you.- They both smiled.-We have to tell the others.
-We? Your family doesn't trust me after what Pan told them about our... History.
-You're right, I have to meet them all alone. And you have to put me back in that box or they will trust you less.
-Are you sure? That doesn't seem a very pleasant place to be locked in.
-It's not but they'll get me out eventually when Pan causes trouble.
-And they won't hurt you?
-I'm their son, besides I'll do what I did with you and tell them something only we would know.
-Ok, just, be careful Henry.
-I will.
-Ready?.- Henry nodded, Raven opened the box and Henry got sucked inside of it again.- Be careful Henry, I don't want to loose you when I just got you back.- Raven whispered and headed back to Gold's shop, she waited for him and Belle to leave and she couldn't believe he didn't notice the box was gone. She returned the box to where it was with the same protection spell Rumple used.
"He'll be fine" Raven thought to herself "I can't believe he remembrers all of this stuff, I...I don't know how I feel about him now, I've never thought of someone that way since Peter. But Henry is so much different than him, Henry is better and he does deserve love..."
