“Thanks.” I respond, slowly backing away from the stranger. What the hell?
He extends his arm “I’m Lucas and you are…” he trails off.
“Gorga. I’m Gorga and this is my friend Emma.” I move to the side and Emma waves to Lucas.
I look up at him. He’s pretty decent looking: dirty blond hair, dark blue eyes and he’s tall. Perfect. Stop it Gorga, you just met the guy.
“Cool. So are you guys visiting someone or-“
I cut him off “We are moving in actually.” Shit Gorga, you have to let the guy finish his sentence first.
“Sweet, we just moved in too!” We?
I look over his shoulder and see another guy, with completely different in looks, walk out of an apartment. Is this apartment building full of hot guys, because I can totally get used to this.
“Lucas where the hell did you go?” The other boy calls looking out into the hall.
“I’m right here! Come meet our new neighbors!” The other guy looks in our direction and then runs down the hall.
“We have neighbors? I was starting to think no one was going to live on this floor.” He says, looking over at me.
“Jeremy,” Lucas starts “This is Gorga and that over there,” he points over my shoulder “Is Emma.”
“Nice to meet the both of you!” Jeremy smiles. His brown hair encases his face perfectly and his piercing green eyes make it hard to look away.
“Do you guys need help with anything?” Lucas asks, particularly looking at Emma who has now given up and was sitting on the floor, the suitcase 10 stairs behind her.
“YES. DO YOU KNOW HOW HEAVY THAT THING IS?” Emma shouts, pointing at my suitcase.
“Shhh, you will wake up the non-existing neighbors!” Jeremy chuckles.
“Here, ill get the bag.” Lucas says, walking down to the bag.
“Emma which apartment are we?” I ask. I can feel Jeremy staring at me from behind. Creepy.
“1505. Here are the keys.” She throws them up to me and I catch them. “I think I’m just going to sit here for a second, you guys go ahead.”
I turn back around and almost bump into Jeremy. He grins and moves out of my way. I walk down the hall leading Lucas and Jeremy to the apartment. I take the key and fit it into the door until I hear it click and I let the door swing open. The first thing I see is the living room. There’s an “L” shaped couch in the corner of the room and a TV mounted on the wall. Emma must have bought some furniture. I walk forwards through the living room past the kitchen and to the little hallway where the bedrooms are. I peer into one room, which is clearly Emma’s. Everything has its place, something that Emma and I don’t have in common. My room is constantly a mess, while Emma’s OCD keeps everything in order. The next room must be mine. I open the door and see a twin bed in the center of the room, a chest of drawers to one side and a desk in front of the window looking over the city. The walls are painted a light blue, my favorite colour. God bless Emma, I can’t believe she did all this for me.
“So when did you get here? I’m guessing Emma had already been living here before hand.” Lucas says, putting down my suitcase. Jeremy appears behind him and sits down on my bed. Sure thing buddy just make yourself at home.
“Emma has been living here for the past few years and I just got here tonight. I’ve known her for a while so we decided when we were little that when we were 18 we would live in an apartment in New York City… and here we are.” Why don’t you just tell them your whole life story while you’re at it, Gorga?
