A DIALOGUE BETWEEN FORMER PRESIDENT CORIOLANUS SNOW OF PANEM AND NEW HEAD PEACEKEEPER PLUTARCH HEAVENSBEE. DATED AFTER THE START OF THE 75TH ANNUAL HUNGER GAMES.
HEAVENSBEE: Sir, I told you that the influence of Katniss Everdeen can and would be diminished by putting her in the Games this year.
SNOW: Don't patronize me, Heavensbee. Or have you forgotten what happened to your predeccessor?
HEAVENSBEE: Sir, I'm not patronizing. But look at her; already scheming with Peeta to leave their group behind and strike out on their own. Public outlook on her is changing, especially in the districts.
SNOW: She is a spark of revolution, Heavensbee, a spark that we can not overlook. All it will take is a little dry wood and the spark will turn into a forest fire. The forest is us, Heavensbee. If we don't contain Ms Everdeen, then she will burn us down.
HEAVENSBEE: The spark will be contained, then.
SNOW: See to it that it is.
