#13 | You Can Play His Instrument But He Doesn't Know
Calum:
Calum was at band practice and he though that this time he'd like to bring you along. You were sitting on the floor while they played their songs and it was honestly a good benefit for both of you. You were enjoying their music.
Suddenly, Joy walks in and announces; "Dinner's ready!"
You were quite full considering you ate while they were practicing. You were basically Joy's taste buds while she cooked. You shook your head politely, telling her you're full.
The boys jumped up from their seats and ran to the kitchen for food. Oh, those boys.
You got bored scrolling through Instagram and Twitter and all that you decided to play with their instruments. They wouldn't hear because when you ate, you couldn't hear them anyways.
You scanned their instruments. You couldn't play the drums no matter how hard you tried. You can't play guitar no matter how much you learn. Then you looked at Calum's bass guitar and you remembered you used to play yours at home.
You picked up the bass guitar and slung it over your shoulders. It was too low for you since he's so tall, so you decided to sit and play.
You strummed the guitar to a few songs. You always watched your boyfriend play live, you almost memorized the songs yourself. You started playing End Up Here. Once you finished, an unexpected clap came from the doorway. You jumped up from your seat and looked at who he was.
It was none other than your boyfriend, Calum.
"Why didn't tell me you could play, babe?" He asks.
"...Because I don't play well." You shrugged.
"If you consider that not great bass playing then I don't know what I'm doing." He surrendered.
"Well, I kinda copied you. So, you're the great bass player. Ain't me."
"You're a good replacement when I'm sick or something."
You laughed. "Who's gonna sing your parts?"
He gasped aloud, his eyes wide. "Can you sing, too?!"
Luke:
You were at home alone. It was gonna be dinner soon and you were really stressed from everything that happened during the day. You decided to calm yourself.
You went up to your room and grabbed the acoustic guitar from inside your closet. You hid it from everyone because you thought you were quite terrible at playing it and you didn't want anyone to force you into doing it. Plus, you're a really shitty liar.
You tuned it a bit and sat on your bed. You started playing Nothing Else Matters by Metallica but you keep messing up when the chords come in. You haven't played in a really long time.
You groaned and tried again. And again. And again. And again. You gave up and threw the guitar onto the bed next to you and put your head in your hands.
"Some practice and everything would be fine." Came from a voice at the door. You quickly looked up and saw Luke, your boyfriend of 4 months standing at your doorway.
"How long have you been standing there?" You asked.
"Long enough to know you're a pretty good guitar player."
"Oh, stop the lies, Lukey. You know I sucked.."
"Well, you did pretty good. Plus, you know the chords, how to pluck the strings and you recognize different strumming patterns. With a little bit more practice, I think you'll be fine." He shrugged.
"You can teach me." You suggested. He grinned and nodded.
"Let's start right away, then!"
Ashton:
The 5SOS boys were rehearsing at the venue of the day. You watched the boys goofing around and laughed at their jokes although they were terrible.
After a while, they decided to take a break. They were talking about their dream girls and what they would like them to be able to do.
"I wish my girl could shred. Like a badass." Michael said.
"I want my girl to be able to hit them high notes." Laughed Luke.
"If my girl can play bass, she's all I want." Calum announced.
"Well, my girl has sick talents. Right, babe?" Said Ashton.
You giggled and shrugged. "If you consider procrastinating as a talent, then, yeah. I have some pretty sick talents." The boys laughed at that.
"Seriously, guys. Y/N is all I can ever ask for and more." Ashton said romantically.
"Okay, okay. Enough with all the lovey-dovey shit." Michael said, surrendering.
"There's one thing you haven't known about me, Ash." You said. He looked at you with the 'You're Kidding' look on his face. You just shrugged at him.
"What could I possibly not know about you?" He asked.
"I'll just show you..." You trailed off, walking to his drum set. When you sat down on his drum stool, he laughed nervously and shook his head.
"Noooo..." He kept repeating.
You picked up his drum sticks and started playing to a sick beat. Then, you played Master Of Puppets by Metallica.
He put his hands on his head. "You just got a lot cooler than you already are."
"Uhm, Y/N? I think Ashton just got a boner." Michael said. The boys laughed whereas Ashton turned red and walked the opposite direction.
Michael:
You watched as Michael played the guitar at the corner of your shared room. You got interested in guitars ever since you met Michael, so you decided to learn how to play through YouTube.
Calum gestured for the guitar and Michael handed it over to him. After, Ashton gestured for the guitar and Calum handed it over. The boys laughed, realizing what they were doing. Luke gestured for the guitar and Ashton laughed so hard his hands shook. You continued the train and gestured for the guitar. You were waiting for Michael to gesture for it, too. But he didn't.
You decided to try playing. You played parts of a few songs and the boys were left gasping with their eyes wide and mouths hung open. "What?" You asked.
"I just found my wife." Michael said.
"I think I just shat my pants." Said Luke. The boys laughed at that.
"Nobody told me Y/N was the awesomest human being to have ever lived!" Calum yelled.
"Michael, she's a keeper." Declared Ashton.
You turned red at their sayings as they showered you with compliments. Michael just leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms with a smug look on his face.
"I got her first, guys. No stealing her away from me." Michael said, winking at you.
