Insane Like Me (Klaus/OC/Damon)

Meeting Damon

I had just gotten home from the store, which I'm allowed to go to alone as long as I don't talk, but when I got home and tried to find Klaus he and Maddox were doing a spell. I decided to just put the groceries away, as well as the blood I had stolen from the hospital, and I sat down, reading one of Klaus' old books. I looked up as I saw Maddox come out of the bedroom and I put the book down smiling. "Where's puppy?" I questioned and he smiled at me.

"His body is in there, but his mind is somewhere else right now, I will be right back okay? Wait here." I nodded not really knowing what he meant at all, as he walked out and waited 10 minutes before sighing. I got up walking into the bedroom and jumped onto the bed beside Klaus.

"Puppy?" I asked trying to wake him. "Puppy?" I shook him slightly still not getting a response. "PUPPY!" I shouted but he still wouldn't move. I felt tears cascade down my face before I jumped from the bed, running from the room and out the door. I ended up in the middle of town, walking down the street, crying.

I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and before I knew it I crashed into someones chest. "Oh my god, are you alright?" A man asked and I shook my head quickly looking up at him. "Mate...What's wrong, why are you crying?" He asked, wiping my eyes gently.

"Puppy died..." I sniffled and he looked confused.

"Your puppy died?"

"Puppy died..." I sobbed again and he pulled me to his chest.

"Calm down, it's okay, come on." He lifted me up, carrying me to his car and putting me into the passenger seat carefully. "I'm Damon by the way." He stated, driving down the road. "Can you tell me your name?"

"Lili..." I whispered between sobs.

"Okay Lili, do you want me to take you home?" I shook my head and he smiled. "Okay, you're going to come to my house, and I'll take care of you okay?" I nodded, leaning into his touch as he stroked my hair. We got to his house very quickly and walked up to the door but I was held back by an invisible barrier. "Damn, I didn't even realize...Hold on." He said taking out his phone and calling someone. "Elena, can you invite my friend into the house? Yes Elena, no, she doesn't want to hurt you, there's something wrong and I need to take care of her. Thank you." He held the phone to my ear.

"You can go ahead in the house." I nodded walking in after Damon, who thanked Elena and hung up.

"Alright, are you hungry? Thirsty? Tired? What do you need?" He asked concerned. He sighed when I said nothing. "I've obviously never had a mate before...I don't know how to take care of you...you're gonna have to guide me here." I walked over and sat down on the couch, tears still falling, and he came over and sat beside me, pulling me to his chest, laying down. He let me sit with him and cry before I was pulled into a short vision of Katerina walking into this house with the ripper. Klaus and I had met the ripper along with Rebekah back in the 20's before we had to run again and Klaus compelled him. This couldn't be Katerina though, puppy said Maddox caught her yesterday, so this must be the doppelganger. As I came out I looked up at Damon and sniffled.

"Ripper and doppelganger." I said and he looked confused. I then heard the car pull up outside and Damon looked up to see them walking in.

"How did you know that?" He asked in wonder.

"I saw it. Pictures in the stars." I stated, pointing to my head.

"So, you can see the future? That's amazing." He grinned making me smile slightly as the two others came into the room.

"Can you do it again?" Ripper asked and try as I might I couldn't.

"Can't...too much hurt...heavy emptiness is seated in my soul...puppy..." I whimpered and Damon cuddled me again.

"I'm sorry...is she out of her mind?"

"No Elena, she's not, and Stefan, leave her alone."

"She sounds pretty crazy to me." Elena stated and I growled, letting my fangs out.

"I'm Not Crazy!" I shouted, being caught by Damon before I could lunge at her.

"No, you're not crazy, you're not crazy, calm down Dove."

"Get her out of this house Damon. She just tried to attack me!" Elena yelled and Damon snarled.

"She's not going anywhere Elena, she's my mate, and I need to take care of her. Just leave her alone and she won't hurt you."

"She seems like too much of a threat Damon, I doubt we could stop her if she really wanted to kill Elena, I think she needs to go." Stefan agreed.

"You can all go to hell." Damon snarled before carrying me upstairs. "Are you alright Dove?"

I nodded as we sat on his bed. "Am I a pretty bird?"

"Beautiful, you're my little Dove." We laid back and he held me to his chest after taking my shoes off and pulling up the blanket.

"And you're my Angel. The stars sent you when I needed you the most, they bless me with your presence."

"That sounds amazing. Why don't you relax and try to sleep, I'll bring you breakfast in bed tomorrow. Sound good?"

"Puppy used to bring me breakfast in bed, we would watch the sunrise together...can we do that?"

He looked slightly confused, but then again, that was most people when they first met me. "Of coarse Dove, we can do whatever you want." He promised, and with that I snuggled into him and drifted off to sleep.

Klaus' POV

"I Can't Believe You Lost Her!" I yelled, throwing a book at Maddox, hearing Katerina laugh from the couch.

"I told her to stay there, that I would be right back. She was gone when I went to get her."

"Of Coarse She Was! She Found What She Believed To Be My Dead Body! She's Probably Terrified! Track Her, Now!"

He sat down looking through his gremoirs as I paced the room nervously. "All the protections that were put on her aren't letting me find her. Well have to go look ourselves."

"No one was supposed to be able to find her! I would never have lost her! And I Stupidly Trusted You!" I was freaking out, pissed that I wasn't able to find my mate and let her know I am okay.

"I'll work on breaking the protections so that we can find her, you go to school, it's almost time."

"I Don't Give A Damn About The Doppelganger Right Now! We Need To Find Her!" I saw Katerina's face, completely shocked as I slammed my fists down on the table.

"Klaus, it's going to take time to break them anyway, all you'll be doing here is worrying and making me take longer. Besides, Lili wouldn't want you to put this off for her. Go, I'll figure this out. I'll call you when I get done." I nodded, walking out of the apartment and to the car. God dammit Liliana, be okay...
