Chapter 6 "The Mixed Encounter"

                                                 Chapter 6

It was the longest ride Ayden has ever took. His stomach twisted as he knew what was upon him. A knew responsibility was eating at his core. Marriage. He has been putting it in the back of his mind or making accuses for it for the longest time, and now it was coming to the service. Soon he will meet his wife to be. He let out a breath as he looked out the window. He didn't want his father to see him in this state. He was being weak and no man should feel that way, especially a soon to be king. His wolf however, was excited to get there. He never pinned his wolf to be a trader.

It would've been nice if he could have picked his own queen. Someone who would know that marriage would only be a business deal, but then again , he knew he would hold off finding her for as long as possible. When he is king that is the first thing to go; marriage before kingship.

While the carriage pulled farther and farther into the forest, he was getting more desperate at getting there. When the carriage and his men pulled up to the front gate he was relieved, even though his stomach did a little flip.

The house was the biggest one in town of course with it being three stories high and sitting on about twenty acres or so his father told him. Ayden was just glad that he didn't have to be crowded anymore in that little dump called home by the midwife. However, he guess he should be glad for her hospitality. 

As the carriage driver got down to walk to the gate and ring the bell, a woman with straight, dirty blond hair came rushing towards them . "Your here!" She said excitedly as she opened the gate. "We've been waiting for your arrival. Come in, come in. The soldiers can go around back and set up camp. I wish we have enough bedrooms, but we only have six, eight if you count the servant chambers."

Ayden couldn't help but admire this woman who looks like to be in her mid-thirties. She had this air of authority that any soon to be leader could be proud of. He could also tell that she was the one who kept this house in check, which made him wonder who was the head of the household. After all, from her ratty dress and apron she was only the servant, but she was still good-looking no less. Ayden couldn't help but marvel at her figure.   

 "The Mistress is waiting for you inside my king and prince. If you will follow me." She continued as his father just nodded. He turned to his men and gave them approval to set up camp. "However, John will be staying with us inside this time." He said.

As they went inside, Ayden and his wolf were greeted with more then what they bargain for.

After reading the letter sent by the king, Claudia couldn't help but jump for joy. First, she was angry at the fact that there was another thing that her latest ex-husband did for his precious Eleanor. She was a rotten child and annoying no less. All she wanted to do was through her out into the streets. However, Claudia knew that she gets free service by allowing her to stay, especially when she had to firer all of her ex-husband employees. Money has been very tight after he passed, mostly because he left a bigger dowry to his dear daughter then his wife's. However, Ella will not to receive it until she's married, which Claudia will make sure never happens.

Yet, while she read the letter that said that the king wanted to marry of his son to that horrible child, she started thinking. He didn't know who she was and what she looked like. This could work in Claudia's favor.
