"Hey you two! Fancy seeing you here!" He around up and came to us. I immediately leaned into Alea and whispered:
"He must have heard us discussing plans. Stalker much..."
She broke into a giggle and nodded her head. She seemed to have gotten passed Oliver stalking her and just dove into conversation.
"What are you having?" She said as she took a seat next to him.
"Cinnamon scone. Care for some?"
She took the scone and nibbled off a little bite. By the look on her face, it looked delicious. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the moment. Like a drunk old man.All of the sudden, Alea's phone rang. She picked up the phone, and immediately rolled her eyes. She put the phone down and quickly got her stuff together. I was really confused.
"I gotta go. I'm sorry. My parents just grounded me for- "she cut herself off and ran out of the door. I tried to follow her but with no luck, so I sat back down with Oliver Gallow. Oliver freaking Gallow.
"What would her parents ground her for? She's never done anything wrong in her life?" I wondered.
"I don't know. She's an angel that one. Hey, could I treat you to a drink? Hot Chocolate? Cider?" He muttered.
"Cider would be good!" I smiled.
He walked up to the counter and placed my order. I pulled out my phone and quickly texted Alea to ask what was happening. I put my phone away and saw Oliver staring at me. I quickly looked down to avoid awkwardness, pretending to shuffle through my purse. I heard him pull out the chair and I peered up. I smiled shilly, not knowing what to say after I caught him staring at me.
"Thanks!" I murmured taking the beverage from him.
"No problem. Faye, I'd like to get to know you better. Everyone knows you as Alea's bestfriend. Period. You're her best friend for a reason, and she's a great person, so I would think that you're a great person."
I just sat there in silence and smiled at the ground. I slowly looked up.
"Oliver, that could be the sweetest thing someone has said to me ever. I would love to get to know you better too."
We both sipped our delicious cider in silence, I was overly flattered by his sweet speech, it warmed me like a fire going inside my house. I couldn't help but blush. He warmed me like the cider was warming me, which is hard to do. Because nothing beats Cider in the fall, but Oliver Gallow does. He rubbed the back of his head and ruffled his hair in back. He then ran his hand through his hair. He was adorable.
"Hey... If Alea can't make it tomorrow, would you like to come with me? I know it's sudden but..." He muttered.
Was he asking me on a date? A date that I could go on if Alea didn't go? What was this sorcery?
"I would love to!" I blurted out.
Embarrassed, I scooted my chair a little close to his and smiled into his hazel eyes. He then scooted his chair so close to mine, if I moved my foot a little to the right, it would brush his pant leg. I was dying on the inside.I'm in my hometown's coffee shop with Oliver Gallow. Nothing much, keep calm.
I turned and flirtatiously took his scone and snapped a little bit off of it. He gave me a little disgusted glare, trying to hide it, showing that he was acknowledging what I was doing. Too fast Faye. Too fast. I slid him the piece back hoping that would make up for it. He shook his hands as if saying:
"No no no! It has your germs!"I slowly tucked the piece into my mouth unsure of what to do next. I stood up and stated:
"I'm going to go and get a scone, want anything?" He smirked.
"I like you." I rolled my eyes and sassily turned to get another delicious scone. Beep. My phone went off in my skinny jean's pocket. Must be Alea. I plucked out and read the message on the home screen. It was indeed from Alea:
'Not in trouble. Just a misunderstanding. See you @ school tmrrw.'
Yay! Good! Looking down at my phone and walking at the same time. I turned around to see Oliver's face. I caught his look right at me. I turned forwards and bumped nose to nose into the old woman running the coffee shop.
"Careful dear! You don't want to hurt that young body of yours. Keep it young while you can!" And she winked.
"I am so sorry! Are you okay?" I questioned placing my hand on the side of her arm.
"Oh don't worry pumpkin! I'm perfectly fine! I'm hoping I didn't scare you!"
I extended my hand to her.
"I'm Faye Lancaster and I must say I'm a huge fan of your little shop here. And I'm perfectly fine!" She took my hand, and instead of shaking it, placed it between the palms of her two hands.
"It's very nice to meet you Ms. Lancaster! I'm Mrs. Sherlock, and my son is the barista making the treats to sell! You seem like a familiar face. I'm glad to know that you enjoy my shop!"
I turned around and motioned for Oliver to come over by bobbing my head towards Mrs. Sherlock. Once again, he was staring right at me. Almost examining me like a scientist looking at a bug under a microscope. But not In an uncomfortable way. Not at all.Oliver pushed his chair in after getting up and strutted calmly but surely over to Mrs. Sherlock and I.
"And who could this be?" She questioned.
He politely extended his hand to her, and this time she shook it.
"You must be the special someone! What's your name young man?"
We both chuckled a bit.
"I'm Oliver Gallow. I'm just a close friend of Faye's. I see you two just met as well!" He stated.
"Allrighty you two. I'll let you have your cider in piece." And then she winked.---------------------------------------------
