Chapter Three

After our impromptu 'date' I realized that it was getting late.
"Hey, I'm sorry to be the party pooper, but I gotta run..." I whispered.
"Don't worry. It's getting late for me too. This has been so much fun. I can't wait to see you tomorrow! Hope to see you at the game tomorrow, whether or not Alea can make it." He winked.
"No! I don't want to ruin you two. You're perfect for each other, I'll be at the game, but I won't ruin you two, if you know what I mean." I then lightly shoved my elbow into his arm making a smirky face.
"Alright, I get it. But Faye, you have to know, you're still very special to me too." He rubbed behind my shoulder trying to make me feel better.
I put my head down and stood up. He followed my lead and also stood up. Oliver grabbed my coat, I followed his lead and put my arms into the arm holes. As we walked out the door, I looked up and waved shyly goodbye to Mrs. Sherlock. He opened the door and put his hand around my hip. Shivers went through me, his fingers so gentle and caring, making me lean my head into his chest. We strolled down the sidewalk that was dotted with leaves every now and then. As my mind was cluttered with feelings, I thought,
"What if Alea couldn't make it tomorrow? What if I was going to the game tomorrow night with Oliver?"
I took my head off of his chest, and looked up at his innocent little face. He was gazing ahead, seeming to look for directions to somewhere. He looked down at me, and we caught each other's glare. Embarrassed by the moment, I could feel my cheeks turn bright pink as I placed my head back onto his chest. It felt so wrong but so right to be with Oliver alone. My mind struck to the idea that this would be considered cheating on Alea. I peered up at Oliver.
"Would this count as cheating?" I questioned.
He paused, as if he hadn't thought of this idea before I had mentioned it.
"You know what Faye, it wouldn't be. I'm not together with Alea, if that's what you meant. I think you're the nicest girl I've met. Nicer then Alea."
I think that at the moment where he said I was nicer then Alea was where I mentally lost it.
"Oliver, I think you're very nice too."
"Faye, would you like to do this again sometime?" He said shyly.
"You know what Oliver, I would love too. Next week, same time, same place?"
"Sounds like a date."
And we just strolled all the way down, back to my house without a word.

As I entered the walkway in front of my yard, Oliver turned to me. I think my subconscious was helping say the right things, nevertheless I was fangirling in my head. He took his hand off my hip and gently lifted my two hands. I turned to face him and tried not for my head to explode.
"Faye, thank you so much for today. It's been so much fun and I hope you can make it tomorrow night." He went in for a hug. I bear hugged him back, letting out all of my energy. I hope the squeeze wasn't too much to bear. We released eachother.
"See you tomorrow Faye." He let go of my hands and took off in the direction we came in, acting like nothing had happened in the world.
