"Um... Dez?" I heard Drake ask after I hadn't responded for a couple of minutes. I was frozen in place in the middle of a corridor. I blinked a couple of times and continued on my way,
"Guys, you'll never guess who I ran into this morning!" I was so excited. Courtney and I had been best friends since diaper days and she'd moved away more then three years ago. I will have to talk to her tomorrow when I see her.
"Hmm, Justin Bieber?" Nat asked, excited. Nat was obsessed with him. Her walls covered in posters and her iPod full of his songs. She tried to paint him on our roof but we'd just paint over it straight away. She got the picture after a couple of days that his name wasn't going on the roof.
"Um... No…" I replied, frowning at her absurdness.
"Oh, oh, oh! I know! Courtney!" McKay said in a high, girly voice. I heard him grunt and laughed. Nat obviously put him in his place.
"So am I right?" McKay asked, eager to know if I'd seen our 'long time no see' bestie.
"Yes! I saw her at the bus stop and only just realised that it was her. She was with some friends but she doesn't go to my school." I complained, “I really wish I went to the same school as her. If this school is crappy, I'm totally getting into their school, even though it's a disgusting uniform. Samson told me that I couldn’t get expelled again and if I didn’t like the school, I’d get a transfer.” I said.
“We should all move there! We could all be together again if all of us here move over to Tassie with you, Dezz and we could dominate comps because we all can rehearse together, anytime we want. It’d be so awesome!” Josh said. I heard some of them cheer in agreement and the squeak of sneaker’s soles against concrete, someone was doing a happy dance and they were all cheering him on.
“I don’t know guys, you know how much Sammie ‘O’ G thinks you guys are a bad influence on me and that’s why I’m here, to get away from the bad life that is my ‘future’.” I sniggered and they all chuckled. All we knew about our futures was dance, dance and more dances. Going to get in college and go to a university for choreography.
“Yeah, we are your future, baby.” Drake said, laughing.
DING. DING. DING. DING.
The bell rang and while I was listening to their plans to move here and meet up with Courtney.
“Hey guys, you can’t just leave your parents and other friends behind. You need to stay at school and everything. What about our roof? You can’t just give that up! We created it; it’s a part of me and, most likely, you guys, too. Your parents aren’t going to be too happy, neither will Samson.”
“Since when did we care about what parents think?” Nat asked.
“And Samson will get over it, we’re inseparable. Whatever he does to keep us apart, won’t work.” Benny added.
“And, for the roof… We can just do it to Samson’s; he won’t care if we do it where no one can see it.” Chase also added.
I must admit that it sounded like a good idea. I missed them so much even though I had only been here a couple of weeks. I couldn’t wait to see them again. I was concentrating on their conversation so much I didn’t really look where I was going and walked through the hall ways, outside to where ‘Club Can’t Handle Me’ by Flo Rida was blasting from a car and people were dancing on tables and the basket ball court. Some guys were breaking on the table and flipping around.
“Where’s the music coming from, honey?” Josh asked.
“Well it looks like you guys kept me so preoccupied that I walked myself into a battle of some sort.” I squealed slightly as someone pushed me from behind, and into the circle that the crowd had formed marking the ‘stage’, “Look, I got to go, I call you later. LOVE YAS!” I hung up and shoved my things in my bag. Glad I put shorts on under my skirt today, I walked further into the circle, towards one of the guys. One of them stopped and smiled at me.
“You like to dance?” He asked.
I smiled and replied, “Like? Dance is my life!” I proved it by flipping back wards with my hands on the ground, pulling my right leg up and flipped over while doing the splits.
“You’re the girl I’ve been waiting for.” He replied.
